You need to select the number of decimal places you would like, or if you would like the calculator to behave as normal. Press SET UP and select FSE (press 1) . You now have 5 options.
0: FIX means you can choose a fixed number of decimal places for every calculation.
1: SCI means scientific notation and choose the number of significant values you would like to deal with.
2: ENG means engineering and the power goes up in multiples of 3.
3: NORM1 and 4: NORM2 are the usual or normal settings on the calculator. Most school calculations will use NORM1 mode.

It is there to remind you that the result display format is set to a fixed number of decimal digits. If you change the setting to SCI, NORM1, NORM2 or ENG, the one you choose will be be displayed. If you choose FIX, SCI or ENG, you will be prompted to specify the number of decimal digits (0 to 9). You might want to select NORM1 or NORM2. Then select the number of decimal digits to display
The mode is set to Scientific. In order to change this back push [MODE]. The very first row has 3 options: Normal, Sci, and Eng. Move the cursor to Normal and push [ENTER].
You need to get some oil to drool down the cable on the inside if you can, it will free it up. Try blaster, the stuff works great. Some of the cables are just metal clad and the oil will penetrate right through it, but the plastic coated ones you have to get in from the top, hope this helps.
Hello, It is quite simple. Press [MODE]. Right Arrow to select [SCI][ENTER]. You can then press [2nd][QUIT] to go to the HOME screen (normal screen). However the number of digits displayed in the decimal part may still be set by the FLOAT option. You might want to select the number of significant digits by limiting the number of decimal digits in the FLOAT option Hope it helps.
