Hello,

As long as your wireless equipment broadcast its info automatically, any laptop that has built in wireless b/g should be fine.

Just make sure that you check the specifications on the laptop that you choose to buy and make sure that it has the built in wireless.

Thanks

Low or poor signal is mainly caused by the following major factors:

Going Around Physical Obstructions
Wireless networks are also susceptible to obstructions that may lead to low signal. Often, the signal gets reflected, refracted or absorbed by the obstruction.

Common obstructions are:

  • Cabinets
  • Mirrors
  • Glasses
  • Metal objects
  • Thick walls and ceilings

If you have any of these objects between your wireless adapter and access point, consider relocating your access point somewhere high to get around the obstruction.

double check that your router is not broadcasting in only G, make it reverse compatible. There is a chance that the other laptop may not be G compatible. Also check the security key and make sure it is correct. If your blocking connections by MAC address make sure the MAC of the non functioning computer is added. You may want to delete the current connection settings from the laptop and restart with a fresh wireless connection. I hope this helps. Good luck

Unable to log on to network with Apple Laptop

The type of computer doesn't matter, as the protocols are the same. Check your router's dhcp settings, as you may have it set to allow too few IPs to be distributed.

WRT150N Linksys... my laptop will see it as a G signal router, and won't be able to connect.

as you have said, configure your router , in a g standard, so that your laptop can access it, becos, your router is emitting, n signal and youy wireless card is capable of receiving only g signals, so reconfig your router, upgrade the latest firmware in the router and check..
