Failed hard drive (assuming one is installed), or could be that it has "lost" the Windows installation.
Possibly a virus, you need to reinstall windows, or hopefully, repair the installation

To do this, as this does not appear to have a DVD rom, you will need the following:

  1. A legit copy of windows (whichever is installed currently)
  2. A spare computer or preferably an external USB DVD Drive (if the latter, skip to the end)
  3. The SATA drivers for this laptop (essential if using windows xp, may not need if vista)
  4. a USB pendrive of at least 4 GB
  5. A USB Floppy drive (possibly)
  6. a copy of win to flash
http://wintoflash.com/home/en/

Uisng the spare computer, extract the contents of the Windows disc to a folder on the spare computers hard drive. Run win to flash and follow the instructions, it will build a boot copy of windows on the pendrive that you specify (it will format the pendrive also).

Copy the sata drivers to the USB floppy drive (you might get away with copying them to the same usb bootable you have just made but I doubt it)

Now, in the bios, set 1st boot to USB drive

Then boot and install, when you reach the F6 prompt, point it to the usb floppy drive and let if find the sata textmode drivers.

Its hould then find your existing windows installation and repair it

IF you ahve a USB DVD / CDROM drive, ignore the above and just install from that, you may need to use a floppy usb to install the sata drivers though

No bootable device please restart system on toshiba netbook

Hello,
It could be that your harddrive is defective or the boot sequence was set to boot to CD or other bootable device. Go to Bios and reset the settings.

No bootable device found

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

`no bootable device insert disk and press any keys what should i do

Have you left a CD in the CD Drive, if so take it out and re-boot.
Can you access the BIOS - if so check the Boot Order and ensure the Hard Disk is the first boot device.
Also check that the BIOS is recognising the Hard Disk.
It maybe that the Hard Disk has gone down - can you hear it spinning up or down when you boot up or switch off. Make sure it is seated correctly.

The hard drive has issues or the windows files have been corrupted, I suggest having the hardware tested.

The problem is my emachine laptop does not want to start up it is asking me a boot decives wch l dont have, the model for my emachines is E525, where can l get the boot device?

It is asking you for a bootable drive or device.
Your windows OS is your main bootable device, if it is not booting, you must have a error in your windows installation.
Other bootable devices can be your Windows CD, or a USB drive with some bootable media on it.
Try tapping F8 when you turn your PC on, it will give you the option to boot into safe mode, or may also give you repair / restore options.
Try booting into safe mode and do a system restore

4GB Sandisk Cruzer Pt. 2

Hello

I have used PEbuilder to make bootable flash drives for all the different operating systems. In my shop it's much easier to have these on hand. If you made the flash drive correctly (I assume you did) did you check the netbook's BIOS to make sure the USB port was turned on and set to allow a bootable device?
