1 Wear an antistatic wrist strap before you start dismantling the notebook. Doing so will prevent static electricity from damaging internal components.
2 Shut down the notebook, and remove its AC power cord and battery. Turn the laptop over and remove all marked screws from the bottom. Raise the plastic shells covering the hard drive, memory (RAM) and wireless card slots, and uninstall the components by lifting off the base. You may have to release locking clips to free the RAM module from its slot.
3 Turn the laptop around and detach the keyboard panel. Using a flat-head screwdriver, push inward on the four small latches holding the keyboard in place to disengage them. Lift the keyboard to remove it, and disconnect its flex cable. Remove the five screws from the exposed landing. Do not undo the screws securing the heat sink and CD-ROM drive.
4 Split the notebook casing open. Insert a pointy or flat-tipped implement between the top and bottom parts of the casing, and maneuver to detach the locking mechanisms holding the two parts together. Work your way all around the perimeter to detach and remove the top casing. Do not apply too much force, or you may break the plastic parts.
5 Remove the hinge covers holding the LCD panel. Unscrew the two plastic hinges to loosen the display assembly and its enclosed LCD screen. Locate and pry open the CMOS battery---a flat, circular component resembling a watch battery---from the motherboard. Disconnect the LCD cables, and detach the panel from the laptop by lifting it up from its position.
6 Undo all securing screws from the chipset and heat sink. Remove the components by gently raising, checking to ensure that you've disengaged all attachments. Remove the CD-ROM drive by unscrewing its attachment and detaching it from the notebook. With the optical drive off, disconnect the speaker's connecting wires and remove the speaker assembly.
7 Unscrew all points of attachment to release the motherboard from the notebook's chassis. Locate and undo all locking mechanisms, such as clips or hooks, to free the motherboard. Remove the plastic inserts for the modem, as well as the PCMCIA and SD card slots, and detach the motherboard. Move the board around a little to release it, and lift it off the notebook.

Need mounting instructions and template

The first thing to do is to determine which mounting posts should be installed into the case Locate the holes in the motherboard, and hold the motherboard over the case and see which of the predrilled holes line up. Screw in or snap in the posts/holders in those holes. Remove any posts/holders where they do not line up to the holes in the motherboard; they will cause shorts and damage/destroy the motherboard. Snap in the template into the rectangular hole, and insert the motherboard into the case. Screw in the screws. Do not overtighten!! Connect the cables, and you are done. (This assumes the memory, processor, and cooler were preinstalled on the motherboard)

How do i line case for pattern 8235 burda

are you trying install the new motherboard into a new case.
if so look for the hole on the motherboards, the holes have solder around the holes for grounding the motherboard, than look at the case and line up the hole in the case. than install the stand off in the new or used case, ***** VERY IMPORTANT*** SOME HOLES WILL NOT HAVE SCREW MOUNT IN THE CASE TO MATCH THE MOTHERBOARD. so you going to have to have plastic stand off and cut the bottom connect that would slide in the case frame, so when you are installing the motherboard there would be support in the motherboard when you are install other cards in or on the motherboard. the pointy end push it up into the mother board, the pointy part should be seen when it is same side your ram is installed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
when screwing in the motherboard some manufactures send red or any color paper washers, you are going place the motherboard on the screw mounts, line up the motherboard, than MAKE SURE NO MOUNT ARE TOUCHING THE MOTHERBOARD WHERE IT WILL CAUSE A SHORT OR BURN UP THE BOARD. line up the hole place the paper washer on the screw do not titan until you have all the screws in the hole, THIS WILL HELP LINE EVERYTHING UP,
BEFORE TIGHTENING UP ALL THE SCREWS.
MAKE SURE BUS LINES UP WITH RAIL SLOTS BACK OF CASE AND THE I/O PANEL/THE SUPPLIED I/O TEMPLATE LINE UP.
than tightening the screws plug in the power, video card, network card, wifi card, some ram, control panel wires, cpu with fan, hard drive, dvd reader/writer, connect power connectors and ribbon cables or sata cables, scsi cables, monitor, keyboard, wireless mouse, operational software, if windows, install all that you should be okay

thank you rod

Stuck mother board hp pavilion 764c

Check to see if the ports themselves are screwed to the back panel of the case. I don't know about your specific model but usually if you get all the screws it should lift out no problem. Also, you should not need to remove any motherboard components to get at these screws, they should all be visible.

How to get motherboard out of a hp pavilion 524w

On the outside, disconnect the power-cable, then the keyboard/mouse/video/audio/USB/printer cables.

Disconnect all the cables from the power-supply to the devices (disk, CD-ROM) and to the motherboard.

On the outside-back, remove the screws holding the power-supply in position, and then remove the power-supply.

Remove the screw holding each add-in card (audio, video, modem).
Remove each of the add-in card(s).

Remove the ribbon-cables from the motherboard to the diskette & disk-drive & CD-ROM.

Look for screws holding the motherboard to the case.
Remove those screws, and gently lift out the motherboard.

My motherboard p4vxms is broken can i use another motherboard

You can install a new motherboard in your desktop case. The mounting holes and screws are standard and you need only move the screws to locations on the base to match the motherboard mounting holes.

My intel d5400xs motherboard came with a hardware kit containing exactly one screw. Now I hate it when I install/repair anything and I have parts left over. I feel maybe I should go into the business of...

Most companies will give you extra screws just in case you lose one.

Just make sure the wholes for your motherboard are screwed down to the mother plate, and make sure the motherboard doesn't touch the motherboard plate, other than the standoffs.

You never know when you might need more screws elsewhere. I always keep the extras. Comes in handy.

P4S-LA MOTHERBOARD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.

1. GROUND YOURSELF. Buy an antistatic wristband and put it on, or on the power outlet, tough the screw in the middle of it. 2. Those little goldish screws that have a screw hole for a screw, and the shape of the upper part in hexgonal, screw those into the case so they line up with the screwholes on the mobo. 3. Repeat step one before putting in the motherboard, if you have the antistatic wristband, go past this step. 4. Make sure your grounded, the put it in slowly and careful so it lines up with the screws. 5. Put in the plate that holds the ports. 6. Screw in the screws, NOT TOO TIGHT OR YOU CAN CRACK YOUR MOTHERBOARD. 7. Put the power supply into the case and screw it in. 8. Where the COU should go, there is a little lever, pull it until you fell it wont move anymore. 9. Put in the CPU. DO NOT FORCE IT IN!!!. Line up the pins (when i say line up, I DON'T mean bend or snap the off, i mean line them up with the holes so the two areas without pins line up to the area on the motherboard) and let it slide in. 10. Move the lever back to it's original position. 11. Put the thermal grease on the CPU, then line up the heatsink's four small screw holes to the four small holes on the motherboard WITHOUT having the heatsink touch the CPU. 12. Put the heatsink on, make sure the screwholes line up, then screw it into place. 13. Put in all the PCI cards that you have into the slots then screw them into place, if you don't have any, skip this step. 14. Put the Cd drive(s), hard drive(s), floppy(s), ZIP drive(s), and cardreader drive(s) in. 15. Screw them into place. 16. Connect the wires from the case to their respective pins on the bottom right. (Third pair is the most important, connect it to the power switch.) 17. Put the RAM in, DON'T exert too much pressure, as they can snap. 18. Plug in all the wires from the power supply to their respective components. 19. Triple check to make sure you did everything right. 20. Close the case up, then connect all the wires from your monitor, keyboard, mouse, and whatever you may have to the right connectors for it.

New case old motherboard

Most cases have holes in the case where the motherboard mounts. The old one may have some that will unscrew from the case to put in the new one. You will have to line the mounts up with the holes in the motherboard for the screws to go into. Some new cases come with the mounts already installed and some don't. Most motherboards are screwed in with 4-8 screws. Hope this helps.
