How can I turn off subtitles on TCL have tried everything including factory reset

What is the signal source? The TV subtitle control will only work for OTA channels (RF) and possibly native apps. For a Roku TCL TV, go to Settings from the Home Page. This should put you in the Options configuration display. Select Accessibility and press OK. Navigate to Captions Mode and set to OFF. Then click OK to save the setting.

If your source is a set-top box of any sort (cable/satellite box, DVD Player, etc), you have to turn off the subtitles from the box's remote/menu. Depending on the device, this could be easy or hard. One of my neighbors had a single satellite box for two TVs and needed captions on the second set. That meant turning on captions on both sets using the menus on the main TV. On my current set-top box, I have to go to Menu > Settings. Then I enter a code from my provider to access the menu and enter the Hardware settings. On this box, the captions control is under the Audio settings.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with more information on your source if you need help changing the subtitles on a specific streaming service or set-top box.

How do i switch subtitles on and off on my Asda 4 Device remote controller?

If you fail to do this; and all other functions are working properly; try an other set-up code to your device, with this remote control. This is a trial and error method. Check all the set-up codes, and choose one; which give you maximum functionality with your TV. This is true to all universal remote controls.
If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the "device's brand name list" in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Surf the sites by type in the brand name to your set, in its search box.

Subtitles on tv no remote to get them off cant get code for a new remote model no 3241ts

If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service center, or authorized dealer to your device brand.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its user manual. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. If you see the site by "MOSAIC" view, will make surf easier.

Technika dv3t

Hi Warren,
Kindly tell him to push the D.SUB button underneath the yellow button, that is if he is on DVD mode. If that one won't work, you may ask him to push the third button from the left hand side of his remote control.

Turning off subtitles will not work for some programs as other broadcasting networks placed restrictions that you cannot turn on/off subtitles using your remote control.

hope this one helps.

Linhdang2918i dont know what to press to turn on english subtitles with my logitech harmony 600

Hi.

Controlling subtitles with the Logitec Harmony Remote Control is exactly the same as controlling any other action. You just need to set up the Harmony to send the correct command/s, as follows..

- First it depends what 'Device' (AV component) puts the subtitles onto the screen, so you need to check the instructions for that device.
e.g. if that device is a TV, then check the TV's original instructions to find out what menu item is involved, or what button sets the English subtitles.

- Next, if the example above applies, look through the Harmony 600's Device page for the TV and see if you can identify the corresponding control buttons. If they are not present already, then teach the commands to the 600's 'Device' buttons for the TV, using the TV's original remote.

- Finally look in the Activities 'Customize Buttons' page to make sure that some buttons are configured to send the commands you need. If they aren't, or if they are not available, then program those instructions into the 'additional commands' for the relevant Activity/Activities.

If several button presses are needed then you could possibly even 'Add a Sequence', in the relevant 'Activity/s' page/s to do the job, and call it something like 'EsubSeq'

Regards
Chas
