Bearings for a AWM 5145

Manually turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the mounting is also very important. Finally in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve most issues.

My Whirlpool duet sport makes a terrible noise during spin cycle like drum hitting something or belt slipping. There are no error codes or smell of burning belt. HELP!!

the drum bearings are shot, you need to get them replaced,if the drum is actually hitting the sides if the tub this could be a broken spider thats on the rear of the inner drum that holds the drum on if this comes loose it can cause serious personal injury

The drum is hitting the back of the machine

remove the bottom front panel (2 screws) look in and on the left and right side you should see 2 shockabsorbers. They probably need to be replaced. The 4 plastic pins need to be removed. I used a socket to compress the "flanges" and a hammer to tap them out.

Washing machine - terrible noise during spin cycle

sounds like the drum is rubbing on some part of an exterior wall of your washer,.or you have a bearing going, or worst case scenario you have transmission problems and need to get a serviceman in to check your machine. But firstI would call the manfacturer and explain the problem they may be able to resolve it over the phone give them model no. Make and year of manfacture they hopefully can help you with this

Loud banging noise durning washing machine spin cycles.

First plug off the wall. Open the machine from behind to examine if any shock-absorbers(known as dampers) or springs have come off or broken. Your dealer could help with spares. But you could do the job yourself.

For spares:
RepairClinic.com (which is good)
espares.co.uk

AWM 8163 Whirlpool washing machine

hi there,

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping/or sound
during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and
redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
