I have a marantz sr8002 can I hook up a power amp to run my front speakers that need more power if so how?

Hello Nate, if you can connect an amplifier to the front channels of your Marantz, to reinforce the sound
For that you have to take the audio signal from the PreOut RCA connections on the back of the SR8002, L output and R output and these 2 signals are sent to the input of your booster amplifier
I send you the link of the user manual and on page 10 you can see the back panel of your Marantz and identified with the number 12, the "PreOut" exits area, there are located the exits that I mentioned
I hope you can listen with more presence to the front channels of your audio system
Greetings Franco Dosil

Yamaha ax470 amplifier, power amp works but nothing else

This unit has main in, preout jacks. When you say the amp works, are you referring to the amp turning on? There will be no sound out of the amps, if there is no preout. Are you aware that there needs to be jumpers between the main in and preout jacks? If you don't have the jumpers, no problem; just use a stereo patch cable between the jacks above.

Pioneer DEH-P3000IB... Hook up RCA cables to 2, 2 channel amps for front and rear control. Supposed to be able to set rear to either rear full or sub... can't find how and all I'm getting is sub response.

Here are the directions according to the manual:

1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select
SW CONTROL.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to display the
setting mode.
# Press BACK to return to the previous display.
3 Press MULTI-CONTROL to select the segment
you wish to set.
Press MULTI-CONTROL repeatedly to switch
the segment in the following order:
REAR SP (rear speaker setting)—PREOUT
(RCA output setting)
4 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select the desired
setting.
Turn to change the setting.
When REAR SP (rear speaker setting) is selected.
REAR SP:SUB W(subwoofer)—REAR SP:FULL
(full-range speaker)
When PREOUT (RCA output setting) is selected.
PREOUT:SUB W (subwoofer)—PREOUT:REAR
(full-range speaker)
# When no subwoofer is connected to the rear
output, select REAR SP:FULL.

Hope this helps.

Car audio

Yes you can use the speaker output in conjuction with the rca pre-outs...but depending on the wattage of the amp, there may be a big difference between the loudness of the front speakers over the rear speakers. If you have a 4 channel amp you can put the rear speakers on the amp also and lower the input gain for the rear speaker. Or if you have a 2 channel amp, you could use a passive crossover to filter out some of the bass to the rear speakers since they are smaller, this would help prevent over-driving them...as it is normally too much bass that distorts and blows a speaker. I'm not sure what you are asking about the hi-rear preouts vs the mid front pre-outs. If you decide to use the amp for the fronts you should be able to connect the amp from the front preouts of the deck. Hope this helps.

Bose 901 equalizer

Hi Mark, had a look for a manual on your Yamaha, but not got to one as yet. Does it have any RCA connections on the back marked as preout prein? best place to put the 901 EQ is in line with L and R front channels at this preout prein point.

Some amps DO NOT HAVE IT. If our does not, then you could connect it in the tape loop, tape out(rec) to input on the EQ. and the output of the EQ connected to tape in(play), but connected like this, the EQ would affect the tone across all channels(unless you are just running a stereo rig, then this way works great!!) Try this and you may just have solved you problem anyway.

regards
Graeme
