Hi i have a acer aspire 5100 on turn on i get 1 long beep and 2 short beeps.the fan is on and i can open cd drive but nothing on screen i took the ram out and that stoped the beeps but still no screen help...

Hi,

Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information.Video (Mono/CGA Display Circuitry) issue.Try to disconnect/connect the video card. If nothing happens, there's a possiblity that the problem is with the LCD cables or the LCD itself.

Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...

Acer aspire 9300 black screen (display adapter)

I have been fixing computers that has long beeps and short ones. It is usually attributed to memory problem connection. Open the memory compartment at the back of the PC then detach the memory card. Clean with cloth softly enough not to destroy the circuit board or a pencil eraser to clean-up dust that caused the connection blockade. Reconnect after cleaning.

Bios reset on a acer aspire 1640z

To reset the bios in a laptop you need to unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Once you do that press and hold the power button for 45 seconds then put the battery back on and plug it in and then try starting it. Everything in the bios will be reset to the factory.
Good Luck

the vga board has failed, its a very common problem in acer laptops, you can get a replacement part from www.acerparts.com im not sure if they ship into us but for europe thats where I get my parts.
my acers vga failed two times, ones within warranty and 12months after that, I have to say that acer products are really bad quality, I'm not sure about the latest models but from what I've seen the vga chipsets have real issues with the motherboards and keep failing over and over again.

I have not looked inside your model but the vga is either integrated into the motherboard = that means the repair will cost the whole motherboard, better to buy a new one.

if your model has a removeable vga like mine does, then you can consider changeing it to a new one. contact acer parts.

One of the covers in the bottom is the memory, one is network and last one I don't remember.
here are the contact details if your acer is out of warranty
http://www.acerparts.com/contact_us.php

The parts for your model are at http://www.acerparts.com/index.php?cPath=561_562_1064

you will have to contact acer parts directly, it may be that the vga is build into the motherboard or then the vga parts are not listed.

Hope this may help;

Acer laptop

Hi, I'm not sure if that is a built-in feature of the Aspire 3000 (AS3004WLCI) but not in your Aspire 5634WLMI but I think that it is an add-on software utility. You may want to try this http://www.nonags.com/nonags/emn.html. It offers freeware E-Mail Notification software flashing scroll-lock light. Hope this works for you. Please let me know how things turn out. Regards.
