It will not print the top and bottom part of text-only the middle. When trying to print a test page this was the trouble. I also tried to print a sheet with the same text in four different colours and it came out banded. Whats the trouble?

Have you tried reinstall the driver and the software (if any)? This could also be a problem with the driver and it's the basic step. First of all uninstall the printer's driver and softwares from your computer, restart your computer and reinstall them. I would recommend you to install the latest updated driver, you can download the driver here (Click Here). Open the link and click the indicated link (shown below):

It will not print the top and bottom part of - nonontech_198.jpg

Actually, there is no driver for other o.s. except Windows NT. Since you didn't mention the installed O.S. of your computer, I can't make this specific. For windows XP, you can use this driver (Click Here), open the link and click the blue "Download".

I would also recommend you to clean the components of the printer including the cartridges contacts (gold contacts). Uninstall all the cartridges, take a blower or a vacuum cleaner and clean the inside of the printer. You can use a cotton bud dampen with alcohol to clean the contacts of the cartridges. Clean the contacts on the printer with the same material mentioned above.

It's also important to try only with New cartridges, might be one of the old cartridges is damaged or having problem which causes this problem.

Let me know if you need further help (with more details please).

Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

First check into the print preview the settings of the page to be sure that it is not set to print only a part of the page ...If you are not sure of the settings ..remove the driver ..and reinstall it clean ...This should default all settings and take it with a clean setting start ..
check the ink to be in order..and most important clean the printhead and the rollers..and make a general reset and try again ...

Trouble might be on the cartridge itself. Try to remove the cartridge and shake it. Then insert it and print it again. If it is still the same, replace the toner...

Cannot print, i've already change the ink, black and colored.

Check all cables to and from the computer. Also check that the electrical cable is connected to the wall outlet. Be sure that all cables are securely connected and in the right locations and turn the printer on.
Step 2Try to print a test page. Click "Start", "Control Panel" and "Printers". Right click the printer. On the "General" tab click "Print a Test Page". Click "OK" if the printer prints the test page correctly. If not, follow the onscreen directions for trouble shooting.
Step 3Open Notepad and type some text into the window. Select "File" and "Print". Select the printer that you are trying to print to and print. If it prints, copy and paste the text into program is giving you problems. Try to print again, if again it doesn't print, then a corrupt font may be the problem. Reinstall the font.

Ink rubs off or prints double/messy

Sounds like your fuser is getting ready to stop working. Your fuser creates the heat so the toner from the cartridge is baked onto the paper as it passes through, your toner is rubbing off, so you could try cleaning, but I'm sure it'll be a new fuser, or possibly a fuser roller. Your owners manual has all the information and step by step trouble shooting guide to let you know.

I have an HP printer scanner 1310 series. Have trouble with printing. It will run about 3 blank pages through before it will print. Then it will run a page part way through so have to open back to get it...

Hi Audrey-

There are many things that will effect how your printer handles paper. The most overlooked being the size of the document or image to be printed. If the image or text bleeds over the edges (left, right, top, bottom) of the document, several sheets can be ejected before the "visible" printing takes place. Often those first few pages look blank, but actually are the outer edges of your picture or text. If you are printing a large picture or large text document, this may be your situation. Try printing a document with just a few words on it (like a small email) as a test.

The second most common culprit is dusty, dirty feed rollers in the printer. Consult your HP 1310 series manual for instructions on cleaning the feed rollers, or consult this general cleaning article on HP.com. HP PSC 1310 All-in-One Printer series cleaning

The type of paper can also effect how many sheets are pulled into the rollers. Is the paper new?, Thick?, Very thin?, or is it the same ol' printer paper you've always used? Either way, remove the stack of paper from the feed tray, "fluff" it by fanning it (like flipping through a book very quickly, or the way Superman counts a stack of money!) and replace. Print a test page.

Let me know if this helps!

Unable to print text documents

Some times image/picture files are very big files. That big size, in mega-bytes, some times conflicts with your amount of available memory. It could effect the print que or ram. Try running the file through a picture editing program edit the files then rename and save them. You can check the file size prior and then after you run the file through the program. If the file size is lowered it should print.

My printer won't print multiple pages

The Toner is running low. What is happening is you are low on toner in the MIDDLE of the Cartiridge. Take the cartridge out and jently shake it left to right (be careful you dont make a mess) this will distribute the toner evenly. time to buy a spare as this wont last much longer.
