Unable to print text documents

I printed a text document and then flipped the page to print on the reverse side. The paper jammed. I unjammed the paper and tried to print the second page of the document. I did not get an error, but the page did not print either. I went through the trouble shooting steps and was able to print out a self test diagnostic test oc 2 pages. I then tried to print the same text page printed prior to the problem. It still does not print. I can print photos from a disc but not from saved images on the "C" drive. When I hit the print light on the printer itself, it says insert card. The print jobs stores in the queue and says its printing, but it doesn't print.

Some times image/picture files are very big files. That big size, in mega-bytes, some times conflicts with your amount of available memory. It could effect the print que or ram. Try running the file through a picture editing program edit the files then rename and save them. You can check the file size prior and then after you run the file through the program. If the file size is lowered it should print.

How can i get my printer adjust to eco mode

Set up your printer to save ink and paper (ECO MODE)
Step 1. To specify print settings in any open application go to File, Print or File, Print Preview, then choose Print Preferences. The options available will vary depending on the printer model you're using, but you'll probably be offered the ability to print in Draft or Economy mode and to a set page range.
Step 2. If you're printing long documents, reduce the page margins to fit more lines on each sheet. Open the program the document was created in and alter the margins in the document settings. Alternatively, you may be able to reduce the margins using the ruler guides. In WordPad, you'll need to look in the Page Setup menu.
Printing Advisor Printer reviews
Step 3. One way to save paper is to print more than one page of your document on each side of paper. Your printer will almost certainly have settings for this, and you may also find them within the software you're using. Be sure to check that the resulting text isn't too small to read, however.
Step 4. Duplex printing is the term used for printing on both sides of a sheet of paper. Not all printers are equipped with this feature, but it's a useful way to conserve paper and produce professional-looking documents. Carefully consider whether you want to flip the page on the long or short edge.
Step 5. Most programs have a print preview feature; use this to see how your document will look on the page before printing it out. You can tweak your page as much as you like, only making a final printout once you're happy with the result. This can save money on paper and ink usage, as well as reducing the wear and tear on your printer.
Step 6. Third-party software can help you reduce the amount of ink you use. InkSaver costs £20 or you can try it free for 15 days. We also like the look of the soon-to-launch Ecofont, which perforates text with holes that are invisible to the ***** eye in order to use less ink.

Print to PDF rather than paper
Step 1. A PDF is an exact electronic version of a document that's viewable on almost any device. A PDF protects the original document from editing by the reader, making the format ideal for marketing materials and digital magazines. Download and install the free version of Nitro PDF Reader.
Step 2. Nitro PDF Reader installs a printer driver that lets you export a document to PDF from any application's Print menu. To create a PDF version of your document, simply choose File, Print and select Nitro PDF Creator (Reader) from the list of available printers. Press Print and enter a name for your PDF.
Step 3. For greater speed and convenience, Nitro PDF Reader offers simplified, one-step conversion. Drag your chosen document from Windows Explorer on to the Nitro PDF Reader desktop icon. The conversion will begin at once, with the resulting PDF saved to your desktop.
Step 4. As well as exporting documents to PDF, the software lets you view them - if you're opening more than one then they'll appear on different tabs. Longer documents can be viewed as multiple pages by selecting the Tasks tab and then choosing between Single, Continuous, Facing and Facing Continuous views.

Cannot print double sided

On the machine when a 2 sided document is inserted in the document handler, select the 2x2 button on the console. Press the start button and the machine will feed the document in, and do a reverse of the document for the second scan. In the paper feeder, the machine feeds the paper in and reversed the copy back into the machine, flips the copy then feeds the copy back for the second side to be copied.
If you do not have a m20i, the lower model numbers will not do two sided copies.

I have an HP printer scanner 1310 series. Have trouble with printing. It will run about 3 blank pages through before it will print. Then it will run a page part way through so have to open back to get it...

Hi Audrey-

There are many things that will effect how your printer handles paper. The most overlooked being the size of the document or image to be printed. If the image or text bleeds over the edges (left, right, top, bottom) of the document, several sheets can be ejected before the "visible" printing takes place. Often those first few pages look blank, but actually are the outer edges of your picture or text. If you are printing a large picture or large text document, this may be your situation. Try printing a document with just a few words on it (like a small email) as a test.

The second most common culprit is dusty, dirty feed rollers in the printer. Consult your HP 1310 series manual for instructions on cleaning the feed rollers, or consult this general cleaning article on HP.com. HP PSC 1310 All-in-One Printer series cleaning

The type of paper can also effect how many sheets are pulled into the rollers. Is the paper new?, Thick?, Very thin?, or is it the same ol' printer paper you've always used? Either way, remove the stack of paper from the feed tray, "fluff" it by fanning it (like flipping through a book very quickly, or the way Superman counts a stack of money!) and replace. Print a test page.

Let me know if this helps!

Designing a document in book form and printing in Word 2007

When you select Book fold for your page setup, Microsoft Word prints two pages on one side of the paper. When you fold the paper, it opens like a book. This option is intended for documents that have more than two pages.
1. Set up your document as a booklet.
When you create a booklet, it's best to start with a new, blank document so that you have better control over the placement of text, graphics, and other elements. You can add a book fold to an existing document, but you may have to reposition some elements once the book fold is in place.
A. Start a new, blank document.
B. On the File menu, click Page Setup, and then click the Margins tab.
C. In the Multiple pages list, select Book fold.
If your document is not set to landscape orientation, Microsoft Word sets it to landscape.
D. In the Inside and Outside boxes, type or select the amount of space you want for the inside and outside margins (margin: The blank space outside the printing area on a page.).
If you need even more space along the fold to accommodate binding, type or select the amount of space you want in the Gutter box.
E. In the Sheets per booklet list, select the number of pages you want to include in a single booklet.
If the number of pages in the document exceeds the number of pages you select for a booklet, Word prints the document as multiple booklets.
F. Select any other options you want in the Page Setup dialog box.
G. Add text, graphics, headers or footers (header and footer: A header, which can consist of text or graphics, appears at the top of every page in a section. A footer appears at the bottom of every page. Headers and footers often contain page numbers, chapter titles, dates, and author names.), and other elements to your document as usual.
2. On the File menu, click Print.
3. Set options for printing on both sides of the paper.
If you're using a duplex printer (one that automatically prints on both sides of the paper)
Click Properties, and then set the options you want. If you have a choice of setting the page orientation and duplex options, select landscape orientation, and flip the document on the short edge or short side.
If you aren't using a duplex printer
In the Print dialog box, select the Manual duplex check box. Word will print all of the pages that appear on one side of the paper, and then prompt you to turn the stack over and feed the pages again.
4. Select the page range you want to print.
If you click Current page or Pages, Word prints the page you indicate, plus the three other pages that belong on the same sheet of paper.
If you click Selection, Word prints your selection using the default page layout instead of booklet layout.

Unable to configure the HP C6380 for double-sided printing

Hello,

Here is the step by step right from the user manual. also here is a direct link to the manual.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01527492.pdf

Let me know how it works out for you.

Print on both sides of the page
You can print two-sided pages with the HP All-in-One manually. When printing two-sided
pages, make sure to use paper that is thick enough so that images do not show through
to the other side.
To print on both sides of the page
1.
Load paper into the input tray.
2. On the File menu in your software application, click Print.
3. Make sure the product is the selected printer.
4. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box.
Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties,
Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.
5. Click the Features tab.
6. In the Paper saving options area, select Manual from the Two-sided printing dropdown
list.
Perform special print jobs 83
Print
7.
For binding, do one of the following:
• For binding on the top like a notebook or calendar, select the Flip Pages Up check
box.
This causes the odd and even pages of your document to print opposite of each
other top-to-bottom. This ensures that the top of the page is always at the top of
the sheet when you flip the pages up in your bound document.
• For binding on the side like a book or magazine, click to clear the Flip Pages
Up
check box.
This causes the odd and even pages of your document to print opposite of each
other left-to-right. This ensures that the top of the page is always at the top of the
sheet when you turn the pages in your bound document.
3 5 1
8. Click OK, and then click Print or OK in the Print dialog box.
The product begins printing. Wait until all the odd-numbered pages are printed before
removing any of the printed pages from the output tray.
A dialog box displays instructions on the screen when it is time to process the second
side of your job.
9. Click Continue when done.

How do I print on both sides of my paper

On printers without a duplexer (a device that flips the paper to allow printing on both sides) you will have to print the first side, manually flip and print the second side. If you're using MS Word or MS Publisher you can easily configure the program to organize the pages for you: Start a new, blank document. -Click File, Page Setup then click the Margins tab. -In the Multiple pages section select Book fold. -Set your document to landscape orientation if it is not already. -In the Inside and Outside boxes, type or select the amount of space you want for your margins. -In the Sheets per booklet list select the number of pages you want to include in a single booklet. If the number of pages in the document exceeds the number of pages you select for a booklet, Word prints the document as multiple booklets. -When you get ready to print make sure you check the manual duplex box (should be in the first dialog box that appears when you click on File, Print). Word will print the first page, and then prompt you to take the pages that just printed and load them into the input tray of your printer. The trick is to learn how to orient the pages correctly for your printer. Good luck.
