80 series front load dryer will not turn.

The dryer was working fine the night before. You can see the heating element come on, the inside light works, if you turn the timer to off and put the signal on/off switch to on and press the push to start button you will hear a sound. The belt is on as far as I can tell. Email is jrappa1@aol

It almost has to be the belt as the heating element won't come on without the motor turning.

My gas kenmore 80 series is not heating?

ELECTRIC Dryer no heat or little heat:

Check your venting and lint basket. Check blower for lint build up and blower wheel obstruction., test by trying to turn the wheel manually by hand (should be easy) May have to remove cabinet or front/back plate to get to it)

Next check the heating element itself with a meter for continuity OHMS CLOSED CIRCUIT. If not its defective.

Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. 220 because if u only get half or 110 volts you will be able to run the machine which uses only 110 to run motor but not the heater which uses a full 220,

Check the thermal cut off, the cycling and the hi limit thermostats.
For continuity or OHMS. If no ohms or resistance they need replacement.

Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.

Hello, I have Kenmosre 90 series dryer. Did a load ealier today, and it was fine. Went back to put another load in and realised NO heat was on, absolutley no heat in the dryer, the air inside is room...

you may need a heating element. You can go to your locale appliance store and buy the element & install it yourself . Just make sure you take All your dryer info, (etc; the dryer model, make, yr & the serial # ) this info is easy to find, its located inside the dryer door. Just call around your locale area and ask them how much it is for the heating element, for your dryer. It should be rather cheap compared to the cost of Kenmore appliance company coming out to fix it for you. The heating element is rather easy to install. I have installed a few in my own dryers and in my hot water heater.
Thank you.
Sincerely,

Kenmore 80 series dryer. was working fine, now

Hello. When ever a dryer will not turn the first thing to suspect is a broken dryer belt. lift the top on your machine and visually inspect the belt. If it is broken, it is easy to replace. Joe

Kenmore dryer 80 series

bbrhoades the first thing I always tell people with dryers to to 1st turn the breaker off and then back on. The reason is that only the heating element uses 240 volts, the motor is 120 volts. If this doesn't resolve the issue, then inspect the heater element for breakage. Hope this helps.
