You need rely on professional file recovery tool to get them back. A popular one is this photo recovery. This tool can deep scan the memory card and recover your lost files back without requiring extra skills. Here is the steps might be helpful to you:
1. Connect the memory card to computer. Under "My Computer", note the drive letter assigned to your memory card (usually G: or H:).
2. Download this data recovery program on your compute. here is the link: http://www.asoftech.com/adr/
3. Install and start the program. then click on settings on top right part of the program, check videos and click OK.
4. select the drive where your lost files located, click Start. Now the scanning process will start to search the deleted files. After a while you will then get a list of recoverable files.
5. Press Recover to perform full recovery.

Have erased your desired files for accidental deleting or formatting? It always necessary to save several copies of important memory card information on different drives, locations or Could storage. Next time, never forget to create Micro SD card data backups again.
And now, as to your lost files, attach this Micro SD card to your PC and check whether your preferable stuffs could be restored back with memory card data recovery software. Simply open your computer and search for "memory card data recovery". And then, according to your conditions, simply choose a proper one as you wish.
Check this to know more detailed information:

It is always a good a habit to back up everything important well as possible as you can. In your case, data backups always could be the easiest way to get back your lost files. So, you should learn to back up your needed data at least on two drives.
Of course, I don't mean that there is not way to save the lost files right now. You are supposed to download a data recovery program to your computer and restore your lost files as soon as possible.
Here is a PC data recovery freeware that could help you a lot:

You can recover the files as long as the data not overwritten, which means if you continue to save more files to the device there will be a possibility.

First of All, connect your cruzer USB flash to your personal computer (shows lick Drive G: or H:)

Next take a file recovery software to recover the data as soon as possible. Recommended one is Wondershare Data Recovery. Get the program here,

Windows Data Recovery (Windows Version)
Mac Data Recovery (Mac OS version)

Take care - Before those items are recovered, stop saving more files to the device!

SOURCE: Lost files during Sandisk update of cruzer 1.0 GB to work with VISTA.

Yes, there is a way. But it means either buying a $100+ Software package or sending your drive to us to have us do the recovery. The package we use is GetDataBack for FAT. You can download a hobbled version and it will show you if you have recoverable files. If you would rather have us do this, the cost is $40 + shipping.

I'm unable to find some important data stored in my Sandisk micro cruzer. I'm not sure if I accidently deleted it or if it is corrupted. Please suggest if there is a way to recover the files.

If the pen drive is working, the data is there and can be recovered. I think it could be due to virus activity. Some virus make the contents of the drive hidden, thats why user can't see the files and the space available for use is less than the capacity.
It is suggested that go to FOLDER OPTIONS - and select SHOW HIDDEN FILES. It may show the hidden files. Otherwise, you can use any data recovery program to recover the data. Please not that you should not sav/write any data to avoid overwriting the existing data.

Hope this helps!

We can fix it -- and recover the data (provided it is recoverable -- which it generally is). If we don't get your data back, we ship the drive back to you and you pay nothing. We've been recovering data for over 16 years and are successful about 85% of the time.

1gb cruzer micro

This is caused by 1 of 2 problems:
  1. Your flash drive is corrupted in some way, forcing the computer to reformat it before you can use it.
  2. The flash drive was formatted for a specific device (like a piano) and was made only for that device.
  3. Your PC incorrectly recognized it
  4. You do not have the correct drivers installed.
If you have problem #4, you can go onto google and search "1 gb cruzer micro drivers".
If you have problem #3, try plugging your flash drive into a different USB port.
If you have problem #2 or #1 (Which it most likely is), then you should try or buy a software application such as PC Inspector, to recover those files. Then you may reformat the flash drive.

However, I found that sometimes, just restarting the computer, and inserting and re-inserting the flash drive sometimes does work. But that's not guaranteed.

SanDisk Micro Cruzer reduced from 2.0 GB to 1.0 MB when reformated

Make sure you check to see if the File System is FAT32 instead of FAT or NTFS, this way you can have your 2GB back.
Try reformatting using FAT32.
