I was very happy with mine too until it just stopped working. My light still goes on and "my computer" shows it there but it won't open it and freezes up my computer until I remove it. So, what's the point in having a back up flash drive if it's not dependable. Might as well go back to CD's!

I, too, always remove my hardware safely--I have a sandisk flashdrive that was working just fine yesterday and today it quit working completely. I also tried 4 other computer USB ports to see if it was this computer and none of the other computers can read it either. It has my entire laptop on it--what do I do?

Also has a SanDisk 2.0GB micro cruzer and it worked great for 5 months then crashed while in the middle of my research for a paper being written as part of my master thesis. Had my new Sony Vaio crash and felt lucky that most of my data was on the cruzer then had the cruzer crash 3 weeks after getting the Vaio back. I had been blessed by great technology luck but I guess not so anymore! Is there anyway to regain the data from the cruzer?

Sandisk has stopped working for no reason all my files on it have got new sandisk but dont no how to recover files

  • Anonymous Jun 04, 2008

Yes, it did work prior on my old emac with Panther macosx v10.3.9 and on a new imac.
Sometimes it would eject fine and other times after I ejected it and
after the icon disappeared, - It would bring up an error message that
it was ejected wrong and might have problems.
That is what it said yesterday and when I tried to use it again - The only icon that shows up is the u3 system.

I wanted to pull up a document from my SanDisk 2 GB Micro Cruzer and the drive would not read (light flashed, went out, on every computer I tried it) . I took the flash drive to our tech person and she couldn't get anything to happen either. For a month I was simply resigned to the fact that I'd lost three years of documents for my job (teaching). The solution: I took the casing off, and plugged the bare usb/circuit board into the port, it worked long enough to pull all those documents off. Just to see if that fixed the flash drive, I put it back together, and tried it again-no go. Moral of my story: back up your work, and don't place so much trust a $19.99 drive for single copies of important documents.

Had same problem.

I wiggled back and forth the part that goes into the USB port and the drive was recognized and I could copy my files onto my hard drive.

I had this problem with a different make USB flash drive and used the same procedure to get the files back.

I think that some connection inside the flash drive works loose after a while.

I am not going to trust these drives for files storage, but only to transfer files.

I looked up SanDisk and sent them an email. They sent me a return label RMA and once they received my broken San Cruzer 1 GB flash drive they sent me a replacement.

Have you tried plugging it in to another USB port and / or into another computer? See if that works. Also, how long have you had it? If you've had it under Two years, you can send it back on warranty. Go to http://www.sandisk.com/retail/support.as... and locate your item and follow the instructions there. I hope this helps! By the way, I have the same flash drive as well and I like mine.

How do I use a Sandisk Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive on an Ibook G4 Apple

You can safely plug in into the usb drive, the system will recognize it with no problem.
The only think you have to remember is to "unmount it". To do so you should drag the flash drives icon into the recycle bin. When you don't see the icon and the led stops to flash you can safely remove it
