Any chance you can send me also the solution,
luis
[email protected] Same problem as all the rest. No heat or blower! I have also noticed a high beeping sound when you turn the dryer on. It only last for a second or two. Then it repeats every 20-30 seconds. Dryer does work sometimes, but I never no when it will.

If you hear the blower ramp up when you start the dryer and if slowly ramps down or quits all together then you need to replace the blower. If the dryer heats at all then look at the blower.

First use the dryers service mode and see what trouble code you are receiving.

It's called "Field Service Mode"
1. Press the POWER key to turn the dryer on.
2. Press HELP. The main help screen is displayed.
3. Press and hold MY CYCLES and BACK simultaneously for 3 seconds. Press EXIT to return to the HOME screen.

There's a 95% chance that it is your blower and your dryer should confirm that.

I just recently replaced the blower in my GE Profile Harmony as well. While I had my dryer apart, I also cleaned the heck out of it. Excellent opportunity to take your vaccum cleaner and get all of those dust bunnies out!

I purchased the blower from www.applicancepartpros.com for about $146 S&H included.

Ge profile dryer does not heat at times

Sounds like one of two things.
1) you have a bad connection, specifically, a loose connection that is making contact once in a while.
2) one of the "overheat thermostat switches" is failing.
If you wish to fix it yourself, you will need to dismantle the machine and have a testing instrument to look for the problems.
Be advised, however, if you take it all apart and it happens to be on a "I will be working now, thank you very much" cycle, you may not find anything!
It really needs to be "not working" for the flaw to show up.
Be blessed.

GE Harmony electric dryer model DPGT750EC1PL- very little heat - small rattle - takes hours to dry load of laundry... any ideas?

Check the following to address this issue.

Note: Normal drying time for a dryer is about 45 minutes (some may take up to an hour).

1. Venting
Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

2. Thermostat
There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat.

3. Heating element
A heating element might only be partially burned out, in which case it would still work but will take longer time to dry the clothes. Replace the element if found defective.

Ge dryer not heating

i am sending you all the possibilities for your problem, check either of these causes ----and than let me know if it is solved----

Power from the house
Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element
Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring
A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.
