My tv is not turning on. When I turn the tv on the blue lights on the front flash and you can hear the sound on the tv off and on but you can't see the picture. I went out of town for four days and when I came back my tv was not turning on. We did have a storm while I was gone so I don't know if that's why the tv isn't working but I had it off while I was gone. When I turn it on I can hear that the Tv is trying to turn on but it can't. I looked and the lamp and the capacitors and those looked fine so i don't know what else it could be. Is there something i can do myself because I'm pretty handy and I don't have the money to pay someone to do this.
I have a 50" Scenium RCA Hdtv with DLP. I had just turned on the tv, when there was a loud explosive sound of glass and the picture disappeared but I still have sound. Now there is still sound but no picture just black screen. What do I do???

Its sounds as if the lamp has exploded or the color wheel has. I will post a link to a site that has a trouble shooting manual on CD called RCA DLP Disc #1 which covers every DLP in the ATC line which is what your model is. They have it either in cd form or they will email it. Its a very good resource for fixing your own set.

The sound of glass breaking was just that. The color wheel has broken, hence no picture.
You will need to replace the color wheel.

hey there is sounds like your tv is trying to tell you to replace the lamp
the lamp is running out of mercury gas and is starting do give up I recommend you get a new bulb

My RCA Scenium HDTV is not turning on either. I guess this model has a defect. Ever since I bought this tv is been giving us problems. At times it would freeze and turn off by itself....sometimes it would turn back on and the volume would be at full blast! when it turns off...it takes a long time for the picture to get back on....and the very last time this happened...the speaker had a bad static echo....From now on...I am not trusting RCA! What could this be related to?
