Dryer started making a squeaking noise, then a thumping, then stopped altogether.

rachel you have done quite a bit to fix this dryer. Have checked the the manual for any solution? Check with Kenmor. Seems to me some fine tuning is needed rather than parts.

Hello, what kink of noise? I know what the problem is. inside of the dryer there are two plastic roller with ball bearing pressured into the hub. Because of the head generatored in the dryer the bearing will loose their grease. This will bearing rattle with thump/thump and squeaking.

Now if the noise is in the front of the dryer then the felt seal will be need to be replaced. I hope that I could be of some service to you. GB...stewbison
