The USB cable is available in any departmental store ( like bestbuy, walmart etc ) or computer sales firm. Ask for USB 2.0 cable as it is compatible with the printer and your laptop.

It looks like it isn't an hp wireless printer. You can connect to the printer via a usb cord and download the software from HP if you want to. Another way is have the printer connected to a wired computer via usb and share the printer and then with the other computer on you could print pages from the wireless laptop to the printer.
Your using an Ethernet cable and your not on a network. You most likely need a USB cable, or connect the computer and printer together with a router. How are you accessing the internet from home?
