Denon, dn-c550r recordable dual cd player, right side tray will not eject...

If the right side tray of your Denon DN-C550R recordable dual CD player is not ejecting, there may be a mechanical problem that is preventing the tray from opening. Here are some steps you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Make sure that the CD player is turned off and unplugged from the power source.
  2. Check to see if there are any obstructions that may be preventing the tray from opening, such as a CD that is stuck in the tray or debris that has fallen into the CD player.
  3. If there are no visible obstructions, try gently tapping on the top of the CD player to see if this dislodges any mechanical parts that may be preventing the tray from opening.
  4. If tapping doesn't work, you can try opening the CD player and manually releasing the tray. To do this, you will need to remove the cover of the CD player and locate the manual release mechanism for the tray. This is usually a small lever or button that you can push or pull to manually release the tray.
  5. If none of these steps work, there may be a more serious mechanical issue with the CD player that requires professional repair.
It's great that you were able to fix the left side tray by replacing the band. However, if the right side tray is still not ejecting, there may be a different mechanical problem that needs to be addressed.

When I put the disc in to be copies and then the blank discs i press the green start button and it display target drive not ready. How do I get it to copy onto the other discs??

One of the "target" CD-writers is not working -- either the "data" cable is not connected, or the "power" cable is not connected, or the drive itself (either the "spinning" motor, or the "laser") has failed.

Presumably, you don't have to fill "all" the trays, in case you only want to make a few copies of the "source" disk.
So, make a few attempts, with the "source" disk in the "source" drive:
1. put a blank disk into the 1st "target" drive,
leaving the other targets "empty", and press the button.
If it works, then the 1st target drive is OK.
2. put blank disks into the 1st and 2nd "target" drives,
leaving the other targets "empty", and press the button.
If it works, then the 1st and the 2nd target drives are OK.
3. put blank disks into the 1st and 2nd and 3rd "target" drives,
leaving the other targets "empty", and press the button.
If it works, then the 1st and the 2nd and 3rd target drives are OK.

... and so on

If you get a "failure", then you now know which of the "target" drives is the "bad" drive. Either replace that bad drive, or change the cabling inside the unit to "bypass" that bad drive, and put a sticky-label on the face-plate of that drive, saying "do not use this tray".

Tray wont open

Power your unit off using the button. when it's off unplug the power source from the back of the XBOX and leave it out for 30 sec. Reconnect the power source and reboot your machine. Try the disc tray again. If it doesn't work try giving it a tap or a solid knock on the top of the case above the disc tray while it's trying to open. Don't drop the machine or try to pry the tray open. If it doesn't open when you tap it then try light pressure on the front of the tray while it's trying to open. (you can tell it's trying to open because the disc status on the screen will say opening...)

Now if the above did not work
Get a straightened paper clip.
Remove the faceplate carefully starting from the indention that you will see on the side
After removing the faceplate, look for a pinhole just below the disc tray.
*There are two pinholes just below the cover of the disc tray and one pinhole below the X and B of XBOX logo.
*You can try any of the three holes
*Pinholes are so small that the girth of the paper clip is the only object that can fit through the pinhole.

Now insert the paper clip into the pinhole then put a little pressure until the disc opens.

If it opens try to close it, if it closes try opening it again, if it wont open the second time then it need to be serviced
If it opens try to close it, if it wont close try nudging the disc to the right and then to the left, if nudging doesnt then it need service
If it wont open after trying all three pinholes - its needs service

It may be jammed or the drive gear stripped.

The printer will not reconigize the second tray. How do I get the printer to show and print from that tray?

If you are talking about the tray that opens just above the main tray these are the steps to take:

Open the print preferences screen. On the Basic tab, on the bottom part of the screen, you will see a section called Paper source, you will see a drop down menu called First Page. Choose the MP Tray. Make sure you open the door up to use that tray.

Cd tray stays open

There could be damage to the tray contact switches
(these tell to the control unit the position of the tray - open/closed), so that the control unit can start/stop and reverse the direction of the tray ejector motor.

These contacts are located somewhere underneath the tray (usually near the front unit cover), and since you mentioned that the tray was bumped while it was open, it is possible they were damaged. Also, the behaviour of the tray suggests that the control unit can no longer tell whether the tray is open or closed so it operates the tray motor in a wrong manner, which, again, points to these same contacts as the possible cause.

Repairing the contacts may be a somewhat delicate procedure, first you need to locate them (it may require partial disassemby of the tray mechanism), if they are bent a pair of tweezers might do the job, if there's hard damage, it's probably better to replace them (scrapped CD ROM units or a dead CD unit might be a good source, they just need to be of the same dimensions).

There may also be other causes for this malfunction, i just mentioned the first thing that i would check.

Hope this helps somehow.

regards
