Does not read any dvd's we try to play!!! - Televison & Video

For a start, try to read the DVD on a computer. Press on CD/DVD on right button's contextual menu for exlpore. If the computer can open and list the DVD, try to play it with VLC player.
If you have problem reading the DVD disk, it's it. If you can read, it's your player

Hi,try these steps
1-make sure your DVD drives works properly and read at least 1 data dvd
2-make sure you can play dvd movie in other pc or dvd player to works properly
3-make sure your dvd writer can read dvd technology,read it in the manual(DVD+ DVD- DVD RW or etc)
4-may be you choose the DVD region country in the properties of dvd player and dvd movie is not for your region or country
5-try to play it with another software like power dvd or ...
6-may be you have hardware problem with your dvd writer
7-try restart or re installing windows and update windows and disable the antivirus(not usually works)

No,tv internal DVD player are not on sale by itself as a seperate unit,only can buy it from the tv corporations themselves and it not cheap and have to have experience to putting it in into the tv internal tv itself.The tv internal DVD player now,could be the laser eye data reader have problems reading mp3 and mp4 files on the DVD disc,which are video files.Now tries to play more than one DVD movies dic,tries like to play like 5 to 6 original DVD movies.One disc don't play tries another DVD disc.Tries this might forcing the laser eye reader to read DVD dics again and than might fix it to read video files again.Or just buy an external DVD player hook it up to the tv and play DVD disc on to the tv video modes.DVD players external devices are really cheap these day,like can buy new one for $40.

Often DVD will not read, but trying cd to play music will work. which will drive circuits very hot to drive offmoisture condensation. Upon cool down DVD will read. If it does not play the whole DVD, use cd again to get moisture off, until DVD can play all the way and second DVD will play all the way.

there must be some problem with the reading lens. try to dirt clean it if you could access the lens.

Laser is probebly goin bad and can't read. try putting a music Cd in. If it can play the music CD but not the DVD it's the laser.

go to safemode and try reading CDs in safemode. If your burner still can't read CDs then it's most likely bad. You could get an external usb burner.

My Emerson won't play anything except DVD Movies, never has, wasn't suppose too. Make your movies in DVD Video format and it will read them fine (unless it's broke). I make movies all the time and play them back in mine. It reads DVD-R, DVD+R, and in duel layered. It will not read RW disks!

Man I've every problem you can imagine with DVD Players. I've found when the disk gets stuck, as long as it's not jammed. You can turn the unit off or unplug it. Plug it back in but DON'T TURN IT ON! Instead hit the eject button and the drive should open the drive without trying to read the disk.

Well first of all, why the hell would you press play when there was nothing in it???

When you say it won?t read are you trying to play commercial DVD movies or read DVD data disks? If you're trying to play movies then you need a couple of things the first being some type of player program. Real player works as does Windows media player but usually DVD drives come with a striped down version of PowerDVD or WinDVD. If you in fact have a player installed and when a DVD is inserted in your drive it doesn't play it may not be configured to automatically play DVDs. Try opening your player program and trying to manually play your DVD. Let us know if you have any success or if you need more assisted.
