Cannon Powershot s500

I have had this camera for a few years and within the past month, I am noticing that the pictures I take are coming in what looks like sepia and blurry. I have fiddled with the settings, but still can't isolate the problem.

Dear caloividal:

What you are describing sounds like the early stages of a CCD image sensor problem. Discoloration and / or blurriness are typical first symptoms. I would simply do a reset of your default camera settings to see if this makes any difference. If not, contact Canon Tech Support at 1-800-828-4040 to see if they feel you are experiencing the CCD Image Sensor Advisory issue, which this camera is covered under. If you are then the issue will be repaired at no cost to you.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
HeavyDLB

On the PowerShot S500 you do a reset by performing the following steps:

    1. Turn the camera on

    2. Press and HOLD DOWN the MENU button for 5 - 8 seconds

    3. You will get a "Reset Settings to Default?" message

    4. Press your right directional button to select Yes and press your SET button. The camera will reset itself.

    Hope this helps.

    Sincerely,

    HeavyDLB

I can't take picture or view any picture from Canon PowerShot A95

This is a manufacturer defect. I reccommend you contact the Cannon Service Department at 1-800-828-4040 to determine if the issue you are having is in fact the defect. They will send you two emails. One will come from UPS and the other from Cannon. The UPS will be the prepaid shipping label for the box. Double wrap the camera in bubble wrap a few times.Submit the evaluation request form Cannon emails to you with your camera. If the issue is additional or something diffrent, they will let you call you or email you. I hope this information helps. I did the above!

Hi....
Canon parts and repair service is excellent. All the parts of canon powershot is readily available in the market for reasonable price.

For your reference i am giving you the site where they take up these kind of problems.
the website is " http://www.mcvr.com/canon_powershot.htm#LCD ".

Replacing a broken or cracked LCD display screen:
  • Powershot A Series: $90 for most all models (a few dollars less on some)
  • Powershot S Series (S30 - S80, S100-S500, S1-IS, S2-IS): $90 for most models (a few dollars less on some)
  • Powershot SD200, SD300, SD400, SD630: $100 (the LCD for these models is more expensive)
  • All other Powershot SD Series models (including SD700IS and 800IS): $90
  • Powershot G2, G3: $90. Some other G series Powerhot models cost $10-20 more because of the higher parts cost.
The above price list is from the mentioned website.Hope my info is useful.
Bye.

Not acquiring pictures with any software

don't think it was the cable, they are a standard usb interface cable.
Had a similar problem, when I installed software for a new camera interface.
you can manually open the cannon software once the camera is hooked up to your computer. Its called "camera window" default install is start>all programs>cannon utilities>camerawindow>poweshot>camerawindow
