Bosch SGS43C12 dishwasher fills with water as normal at start of programme, then you can hear a quiet 'click click' normally the cycle would start, but nothing happens. I can press reset and it drains the machine well. Have cleaned out filter and checked rotor arm for blockage all fine. thanks Pete

When I start a new cycle, I first hear the pump run to empty out all remaining water, and after that I hear the motor run for the regular washing cycle, but there is no water in the dishwasher. After a few minutes, the cycle stops, and the washer claims the dishes are 'clean'. When I try starting a new cycle over and over again, about one in 20 times, the cycle will run normally with water. But then the next time, the problem starts all over again. Once a cycle starts correctly, everything works fine, including the rinsing.

The control board on this model is know to have issues with dry solder joints, If you are handy with a soldering iron you can fix it quite easily.

Ive had this happen on mine too. remove the filters in the bottom. squirt washing up liquid into the space-- liberally dont be shy!
Boil pans of water, boil the kettle. pour water into the space where the filters normally are. Fill the base of the dishwasher completely. Next close the door and repeatedly use the Reset feature. Eventually the pump will clear and kick back into life. Its a build up of fats, and sludge that causes the pump to appear to seize--the washing up liquid and boiling water see to that.

make sure the drive belts have not come off under the unit

You will need to check the inlet valve and the water level pressure switch. It can also be a low pressure in the pump that is giving out the signal for the control board to shut off.
So first of all check the water line throughly to confirm.

Hello, welcome to FixYa. Can you elaborate on the actions which take place ? Does it fill and just sit idle until eventually drain or do you cancel the cycle manually to initiate the draining ? I should be able to help you with some more details. I will watch for your reply. macmarkus :)

the problem is the float switch is stuck

if no drain, then no cycle. problem is probably that draining is not taking place. check the following: if plumbed in under the sink, remove drain hose from spigot and check no blockage. start any program - all programs start with drain. listen carefully for a low humming noise. if you hear this, it means you have something stuck in the pump impellor - bit of bone, cocktail stick etc. get back to me if you like with what you find
