Danby DWC283BLS Wine Cooler noise

We are experiencing a low level high pitch scream coming from our Danby? It is sporatic but seems to happen during a cooling cycle.  We called the service number and they immediately said compressor and sent someone out.  It was NOT the compressor and they said to bring it back to Bestbuy.  We are lost in voicemail / hanging on torment! Can you fix this problem? And what do I do about our less than 30 day old Danby?

Hello danbydumb,

Welcome to fixya.
I'm Huuum and happy to assist you,
Go to where you bought it, and ask them to replace it with a new one.
more than likely you will not have a problem !
If they talk around it and want to send service again, tell them replace it or you will stop your charge and never buy another thing in their store.
WE the retailers are at the mercy of the charge cards, that if they stop payment , or pull the money back out of our accounts, can do nothing about it but satisfy you the customer to get re payed!

This will SOLVE your problem.
You do have a 1 year warranty, but never wait!!!!!!!!!
Do it now!!!

Happy to help.
You will get a replacement from the store or Danby!
Just be calm & sweet and nice. Not angry or even raise your voice!!

I Know you will be 100 % satisfied!
"It is easier to keep the customers you have than find new ones!"

Please remember to leave me a "Solved" rating before you go!
Thank you, Huuum

My Danby wine cooler fan is making a horrendous noise - it sounds like it's trying to start up and then it gives up. I hav tried tightening the housing screws but this works for a couple of minutes and...

Where is the noise coming from? Check the fan at the back of the upper compartment. They seem to be defective and die after about 3 years (just outside of warranty... how convenient). I'm dealing with the same issue now. (As search on the internet indicates that we're not alone!) When its making that noise, try pressing the back plate around the little fan and see if it changes the noise.

Danby DWC283BLS has condensation inside the unit.

wine coolers have no means of draining the condensate inside them, use silica gel(1/2 pint)to keep the inside dry(remember to dry it out when condensate happens again)

I have a danby wine cooler that is running hot. I am outside of the reg. warranty but if this is a compressor issue it is covered. How can I tell what is going on?

if the motor are running the gas level are too low . if the motor are not running check the thermostat. if there are power by the motor and stil not running then it is the motor
