I can't contol the volume on my t.v. with the dish remote. I am also unable to turn the t.v. off with the dish remote. Everytime I press the volume buttons, the mute button or the t.v. button to turn the t.v. off nothing happens. The t.v. mode button lights up but nothing happens; usually when I press these buttons the sat button lights up and it works. So how can I get it so only the sat button lights up?
Re: I can't contol the volume on my t.v. with the dish...
Usually a remte can use the VCR or DVD set up to drive something else. Try switching the remote to VCR and emulate the codes as what the dish codes arw/ Pretty sure but just try promming one remote for every thpmg. My monet=y would be on the sat remote/

I can definitely provide more information. Without knowing the model of the sound system, I am unable to provide specific codes. Below I will include a link to lookup codes, as well as the steps to address the remote.
1.) Press and hold the clear AUX button until all mode lights light up. 2.) Release and AUX light will be blinking. 3.) Press 2 and enter the code. (Example: If the code is 639, enter 2639) 4.) Press pound (#) 5.) Try functions (Power, Volume, etc..) and see if it is working. 6.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.

Hello! My name is Becki Barned, and I am from Dish Network customer service. The problem that you are having is simple to fix. Although your remote works for the volume, and power, it is not working for the satellite. It does need to be reprogrammed. Just take it to tv1. With your tv1 remote, press the menu button twice. Then with the tv2 non-working remote, hold down the SAT button until all the mode lights light up at the top, then release. Then press the #9 on the remote keypad, then the pound (#) button, then record (above the number 3 on the keypad) 3 times. This should resolve your issue!!! If not, you can blog back, or find us on Twitter!!!!
It may be that you are not using the correct code for yourparticular Bose component. I would recommend trying all of these codes: 761,664, 656, and 639. If you are still not able to use your DISH remote to controlthe volume of your Bose component, try doing a power scan. Press and hold theAUX button on the top of your DISH remote until all the mode buttons on the toplight up, then release. Press 2 then * on the number pad, press the powerbutton at the top of the remote, then keep pressing the up button on theremote. Continue doing this until your Bose unit turns off, once it has, stoppressing the up button and press the pound (#) button. Check that the code works by trying several differentfunctions on the remote to make sure it properly operates your Bose component.Keep in mind that some codes may not be compatible with your equipment.

If you are unable to access the TV menu using the buttons on the TV itself it is possible you can with the TV2 remote if it still controls the volume etc. for this TV. If it doe not you will need to find a code for your set in the manual for the receiver or you can go to the following link to find that info as well.http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/TechPortal/content/tech/receiver/625.shtml Assuming you have control of the volume still press the small TV button on the top left of the remote. Now press the menu button and you may be able to access the TV's menu. If so you need to run a channel scan/auto program the TV. You may need to use the buttons on the TV still to maneuver through the menu. If you are still unable to access the menu you may need to purchase a universal to access the menu.
programm the remote to your tv by pressing the TV button till all lights light up at the top then enter your 3 digit tv code ( samsung codes are 738, 516 or 680 then press pound. this should enable you to controll power and volume, be sure to press sat to operate you dish recvr.
