I have symantec antivirus and i update it after 30 days.earlier when i buy my laptop it was having escan antivirus and it was valid for 3 months then it was over and i didn't buy any antivirus.simply i download the symantec antivirus but now symantec partially scan doesn't completely delete the virus from pendrive or drive.please tell me why its happening and my system speed is slow

you don't need Symantec Norton Antivirus 2009,Symantec is garbage download free avg or avast and spybot 10xs better then symatic

If you have a legal downloaded copy of Norton, go to the purchase confirmation email you received from Symantec and click on the download link again. If it doesn't work, call Symantec with your order number to request an updated download link.

This has worked for me in the past. I had the same problem a year ago and Symantec provided an updated download link.

It's about $30, depends where you download it from. Avast is free and it updates daily.

It sounds like you need to be using managed mode for the workstation installations. When you do this, the server will contact the workstations when there is a new update, and not the other way around. You wont have to worry about when it checks if that is the case.

1) Close all Norton applications.

2) Moved file [ccWebWnd.dll]
from [C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\]
to [C:\_My Files\_TEMP]

3) Run LiveUpdate
Type [C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LUAll.exe]
into Windows Explorer Address bar and hit [Enter]

4) Restart your computer.

5) Moved file [ccWebWnd.dll]
from [C:\_My Files\_TEMP]
to [C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\]

6) Run Norton SystemWorks LiveUpdate from your Windows Start Menu.

7) Restart your computer.

do you have valid subscription for the product and check whether the product subscription is expired or not?.. if you have the valid subscription means go ahead and run the liveupdate and it will fix your issue
