Check your transmission fluid levels first. If its good then that rules that out. When was the last time you did a transmission fluid flush and filter? It's recommend to flush and change filter in transmission every 30,000 miles. Also if fluid looks redish brown and smells burnt you could have bad bands.
If your contractor supplied the toilet, then it is his/her problem, not yours. If you supplied the toilet, then: take a mirror and examine under the lip of the bowl. How does the glazing look? Are there areas without glaze? If so, these bare areas are a breeding ground for bad odors. You can try a thorough cleaning both inside the bowl and around the outside of the toilet with an amonia cleaning product. If you use amonia, DO NOT use bleach: the two combined create a deadly gas. Whatever you do, do not hang a bleach based product inside the tank: the bleach will eat away at anything rubber inside the tank. There is a bleach product that hangs inside the tank and disperses the bleach directly into the tube that leads to the toilet bowl. This would be OK.
the brake system flush is acceptable but the condition of the transmission oil is the clue
if it is supposed to be red but is brown and smells a flush id in order
it the oil is tan colour but doesn't smell burnt that will be the colour of the oil
go to a brake specialist shop for a quote to flush the brake system and an specialist auto tranny shop for a quote then see if the dealer quote is close
Open the door and run your hand deep inside the door seal. It probally has a slime around it. You can clean this with a bleach water mix. You might need to pull the seal somewhat inside out to get it real clean. Then run an empty load to flush it all out. Here is a link for replacing the seal or spring clips if you pull one off. http://appliancehelponline.com/washerdoorseal.html
a few different reasons first check fluid level--look and smell oil if it smells burnt have fluid and filter replaced-- filter need changing-mechanical band/gear slipping
If you have a silver metal braided line to water source that is your problem. Replace mine with a braided vinyl line and it cured it. ps flush new line for about two minutes.
