Power outage / TV won't come on.

I had a power outage in a storm last night,... the TV will turn on but no picture or sound will come up. I tried to reset it w/ the reset button,... but nothing happens. This happened a few years ago as well,... and an HONEST TV repair guy actually walked me through a sequence of pushing some buttons ( over the phone ) and the picture returned as normal. However,.. I can't seem to find an honest TV repair person. Now they just say "bring it in" or "make an appt to have a repair man come to my house. Anyone familiar with how to reset the TV?

Came home to find out that TV won't turn on. Apparently there was a storm over the weekend. Cable box, mini-stereo, and dvd player all on same surge protector with TV. All others are working fine. Tried unplugging and replugging in TV - but it doesn't turn on at all. I was looking for the reset button - but can't find it - any idea where it is? HELP! Don't really want to spend money for in-service if it may just be a simple reset of the TV. thanks.

To Whom,

I have a Mitsubishi VS 50705. I left it on overnight and when I awoke I tried to turn it on forgeting I left it on. It will not turn on. I hear a click when I plug it in but nothing happens. I can not seem to find a reset button anywhere. There was not any power surges to my knowledge or storms. I am in the middle of nowhere, so the possibility of getting a repair person out in slim to none. Any Ideas?

Thanks, Ron

Call the manufacture tech support and ask them for their rep in your area. If it is possible for them to reset your TV I am sure that they will.

From your description, most of the time there is damage to the power supply, or one of the areas in the set.

Possibly storm damage to the main board.
Check your household insurance to see if it covers storm damage with a view to a replacement tv.

Hi,
please call a specialist in that for assistance.
As of now and future: Follow what everyone says: "Turn off the modem and TV during a lightning storm".

My LG LCD 32LD350 seemed to have been fried in a storm last night, stanby red light no longer lit and won't turn on, still see some green lighting inside televison, but it won't turn on, Is it

Is it repairable, well, this question can be answered only after opening the back cover and evaluating the damage. From you side, please connect the TV to a different power outlet where other similar devices are working and see. Then try changing the input device to something that sure works. If it does not work even then, this may need attention by a qualified service technician.

My Acer Aspire M1201 won't turn on.

More than likely your power supply got fried from a power surge during that storm anyway. You'd be surprised at how worthless most surge suppressors are these days.

Hi,
Unplug the unit from the mains for at least an hour, then plug it back in again and try to boot it up.

Tv trips circuit breaker

it will be one of these on the power board these will blow if they get over loaded and short out the power line in turn tripping the electric.
su-logo-bridge-rectifiers-402fdf5ej2eemw1gcpqyfpcr-2-0.jpg this will be on the mains side of the power board. can be one of these types in the photo. but it can also men something else has blown on the 5 volt side of the board.

No Power to my TV after power outage

A lot of times its simply a fuse that goes out. Either way someone is going to have to open it up and inspect the fuses first. It 's a fairly inexpensive service call.

Hopefully the fuse took the hit from the storm.

Power outage last night. Deleted all saved voicemail messages. when turned on - machine says "no massages" How do I retrieve lost messages?

I'm sorry there isn't. Answering machines like this have very little ROM memory. After a powersurge and outage like last night, it wiped the whole memory chip. You can try there support page. It's actually pretty good. http://telephones.att.com/telephones_ui/support/index.cfm
