On my Olevia 226-T12 I have volume, but no picture. I can also get closed caption. It happened overnight. When I turn the TV on the screen shows with the "Olevia" name on it and then it turns dark blue. I have no manual so I am at a loss.

You asked if there is a dull glow on the screen. The screen is the normal deep blue that you see when the TV is on, but the cable box is turned off. I hope this makes sense.

Yes. It was a bad cable box :) Thank you very much for your help.

Sounds like you have a backlight related problem. Apparently the backlight is turning itself off in a few seconds. Can you confirm if you have a dull glow on the screen?

That means the tv is not recognizing the input source. Did you try another input source such as DVD player to see if the problem persists? That will help us determine whether its a problem with the cable box or the tv itself.

Thank you very much. It was the cable box. I switched it with another box and after a few minutes the TV picture came right on.

I have an Olevia model 432-S12 flat screen TV and I cannot get the closed captioning to shut off. All help appreciated, pokerpadre

You should be able to accsess your menu by pressing the menu button on your remote. You can scroll around until you see a "CC" option. Select that and arrow up down or side to side to select turning closed caption off.

We get a black square on Fox and one children's cartoon network only. I have close captioning set off on my Uverse box menu. Is their anything else I need to do on the Olevia setup menu to eliminate the...

This is most commonly caused by the use of a Closed Caption text box. This type of Closed Caption is not always supported by the broadcaster, and results in the appearance of a black rectangle with scrambled or no text.

This can be quickly resolved by adjusting the Closed Caption type to "CC1" or by disabling the Closed Caption feature on your television.

get in the menu and change the close caption with the Olevia remote control

This should fix you right up

Problem with Olevia 226-T12 firmware install

the only thing is to keep trying it but you might want to leave the television off over night and then try it the next day.. also try doing the firmware on a 1G or less thumb drive...if the television is still not grabbing the firmware then it sounds like the television will need to get service... this means the television's main-board will need to be flashed.

Since the Manuf. of Olevia is out of buss the only company at this time that has the tool and parts to repair the television will be the 3rd party repair center called Amergence Technology ( 866-965-3842)

ZzVzzVzzV on my screen

Sounds like a bad system board.  Start with Olevia for warranty status, and if it's not covered, check for part numbers on the boards for purchase/repair.

Big black screen in picture

You have the CC (closed captioning) turned on and it is set to text mode. Look for a button on your remote labeled "CC" or go into your TV menu and make sure the captioning selection is set to "off".
