I have the same problem. Cable went out, hooked up an antenna and it scanned ok. Hooked up a diff amplified ant, worked the same. So watched videos. Next morning tuner would no longer scan or add channels. Now it will not even factory reset. Get to Auto Scan and it goes no further, cable or air.

There is no firmware to this TV by internet. Contact the nearest authorized service center for help.

if the remote works use that===sounds like a defective microswitch on the control board on front or side of set--not uncommon.

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.4_23_2012_5_08_51_pm.jpg

Check your aspect ratio on your TV and on your cable or sat box.

I have the same exact problem, it's so damn frustrating.

Hi

The power surges that lightning usually brings effects the tv from a blown fuse to a damaged board .You need a technician to have it checked. Check all of the inputs to the TV to ensure you still have signal there (you might need to borrow another TV to do this). If the problem is not your signal source, then it's the TV and the news may be bad. If you did not have the TV plugged into a surge protector, the power line problem may have fried something in the TV's power supply. Power supply problems on TVs are easier to repair than many other faults, so an evaluation at a repair center might be worthwhile. Failing that, then you need a new TV. Also try replacing burnt/shorted hi-volt cap C421 470pf/2kv.

Please gets back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

I have a Syntax Olevia 532-b12 and ironically, the blue light is on when power is off (and turns off when the power is on...) I assume it's the same for the 537H

Comcast should be liable. This happened to me with my Olevia 437V Since Olevia went out of business and has no support your options are limited. You could take it to a local repair shop, although they may have problems getting any parts unless they can do a PCB level repair. It may be as easy as the tuner chip. There is a firmware upgrade but I no longer can find it, when it was available it was like $30. There tech stated that the upgrade wasn't related to the tuner but I was a little skeptical that maybe the DTV format was different than how the TV was original designed to accept. You maybe able to just get an external digital tuner also.

Olevia phone number: 866-965-3842

I'd never buy another thing from them, they left all there customers in the lurch.

That can be the problem in the main logic board. You need to look at the sinal generated by the power switch to see if it is there. Also need to look at the power supply DC filter caps and check the voltages to make sure they are OK.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
