I have an olevia 532 b12 model and no tv channels in list

I have an olevia 532 b12 model. I dont have cable at my house, just want the free broadcast channels, but my tv only says a message ''no channels in list'' on the Turner source option. Do I need to buy an external antenna. I am confused I thought this TV came in with a built in antenna. What do I do in order to see the channels and to be able to do so now with the upcoming digital transition? Thanks!

It sounds to me like there's either no internal antenna, or you've got the cable or A/V type external input selected.  Check what's selected as an input on the menu, I think therin lies the problem - probably a simple fix.

    Is this a new TV?

If it's an old TV and you think something's gone wrong with the electronics, let me know... I dropped my TV and cracked the screen.  Oops.

The electronics are known to go bad with these TV's, and I'm looking to buy someone's junk TV that has a good screen, rather than have to throw it out.

I don't think you are in that boat, but if anyone is out there with a 532-B12 that isn't working, send me a message!

I also have an olevia 532 b12 and I do get over-the-air channels.
I have it hooked up to an indoor set of rabbit ears - VHF/UHF from RadioShack.
(It actually looks more like the starship enterprise)
The TV tuner has a "search channel" option under the main menu set up.
It finds the signals automatically if they're strong enough and then remembers them.

Olevia 532 b12, scanning for channels?

Question edited for clarity of maker name and typos.

Try disconnecting from the mains power for 5 minutes. It is a bargain basement brand and has a history of issues not scanning for channels.

Does ovelia model 532 B-12 come with built in tuner.

I purchased a 532-b12 several years ago - it includes both an analog and digital tuner.

The calble is connected directly to the tv, not through the cable box & when i try to change the channel it says "no signal" at the bottom left corner. Olevia 32" model 532-b12

I assume from your question that you have a cable subscription and that you have the cable plugged into the ANT input via a co-ax cable. The ANT input is for an antenna for over-the air signals. The channel up/down change the internal tuner up/down. For example, if your cable is set to channel 3, it will pull in the cable on channel 3, but then try to pull in over-the-air if you hit channel-up to channel 4.
It seems you need some kind of converter box from your cable company in order to change the cable channels, and then that converter box would plug into either the ANT input (and leave the tuner on 3) or into one of the other inputs like Component, HDMI, SVideo etc.

Want to connect my thinkpad to the Olevia 532-B12 CD TV. Cables I have found show 15pin conenctors for the video and signle RCA plugs for audio. The back of the TV indicates it needs an audio splitter...

what connections to you have on your computer? because it is best to match connections with tv to computer. s video? hdmi? they sell av or color stream cables with a splitter to connect to computer color stream is just for picture av (RCA input) is for both video and sound.

Suddenly the Tuner mode reports "No Signal"

Just a solution.

I attached a video recorder., and selected the video channel.
I was able then to see the channels through another AV slot extension.
Then I reset the TV to factory settings.
Samsung full HD reset code is 0000.
I used the original remote control.
I pressed the button TV/DTV to switch between mode., and from the menu I started
the option to scan the channels automatically.
Because the VCR was still connected it looks like it was forced to admit the channels.
I turned off the VCR and click on the TV the remote control for a known channel ( alternative control used) and surprise ... The TV started to react according to expected.
I disconnected then physically the cabling from the VCR and plugged in directly on back on the
wall connector. All is ok.
What was the reason ?
My wife dropped the alternative remote control ( not the original one) on the floor, and apparently an strange code was sent to the TV., which suddenly displayed " No signal".
I hope this can work for you.

Kind regards
Sanchez
