The following drives will fit MK3006GAL (30Gb) MK2006GAL (20Gb) and the MK2004GAL (20Gb)
The drive must be formatted to a FAT32 file system (if it isn't already) this can be done easily with a free program called swissknife.
Note: Toshiba drives of the same part number advertised as Apple or ipod drives may not work in the iriver.

Apparently most of the Mp3 players use a common garden variety Lap Top Hard Drive like a Toshiba etc. I have a Friend who replaced his in a Creative Zen. So Either take it a a reputable Laptop repair firm or simply pull the back off and check it out yourself. I haven't down this yet because I am still trying to Back up the contents of my H320 before it fails completely. When you pull the back off it should have a small hard drive just clipped into it using a wiring connection similar to a Laptop. Find the numbering and get a compatible replacement. The you may need to download a Firmware update as an exe file from IRiver and put this in the bas directory of the H320 and run it. THis sets up the necessary software. You may even be able to put in a larger hard drive 40 or 60 gb as they are all the same price depending on your budget. Let me know how it goes as I will be doing the same job shortly.

Thanks.....I will look into this.....The i-river is a nice unit and I'd hate to send it to the scrap heap. In the meantime I bought an I-audio 16 GB flash drive that has most of the feature the iriver has, plus NO hard drive to break. I like it but hate the controls....too jumpy and the letter are too small to read!
