You need to determine if the door LATCH is the problem, or the door CATCH. The LATCH is the electronic locking mechanism. The CATCH is the small peg that inserts into the latch when the door is closed. If you determine the catch to be defective, replacment should be self-explanatory. There's just a couple of screws that hold it in place on the inner door facing. If the latch requires replacement. The repair is a little more inlvolved. The following link explains:

Washer won't unlock flashes f14.....Kenmore Elite HE4t

F14 for Kenmore (Whirlpool) machines means EEPROM Error.

The Central Control Unit (CCU) receives it's data from an EEPROM on board the CCU, if there is an error reading this data, it will cause this error.

A power glitch may cause this error. Try unplugging the Unit for two minutes to see if that fixes the error. Check CCU. So its likely you'll need a new CCU board.

Check your owners manual, some models have up to a 5 year parts warranty on that CCU.

Kemmore elite 3t has error code f and will not drain

Check your door when it closes, it should hit a push-in button above that door latch, at times I have seen the door hinge bent down just some, causing the door not to strike that button dead on.

If thats fine, then its likely to be the door latch assembly or the CCU board bad.

The code is a door lock error!

I can not open frent door. front door is lock.

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model front loading washers. If you experience a problem where the door becomes jammed and will not unlock or open, here's an easy way to gain access inside your washer WITHOUT calling the repairman.

1. Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. HINT: If you prop up the front feet of the washer with some small blocks of wood, this will make access to the screws much easier.
2. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose.
3. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located.
4. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.

Sometimes these doors will not unlock for whatever reason. If there are no error codes being generated, this could have just been a momentary glitch. If you see "Fdl" or "Fdu" error codes, these are usually indications of a failed door latch assembly and will require replacement.

I have a kenmore he4t washer and the front door

First thing to check is if your door hinge has a sag to it. The next step if there is a sag is try adusting the screws that hold the hinge on the frame of the door sometimes these do come loose. and do require tightening. Folowing confirmation that there is no sag in the hinge your next step would to order a new door latch. If you are not mechanically capable of removing the front section of the machine you should call a technician

I have a kenmore elite smartwash quietpak 9 HE4t. The control locked light is on. I have tried unplugging for an hour and plugging back in, door is unlocked but no buttons work. What can I DO

The following link explains how to correct a Control Lock problem on a Kenmore Elite:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r2469429-kenmore_elite_amp_whirlpool_duet

Some front panel features differ between models, but the instructions should be listed on the front panel of the washer, and are located in the operator/owner's manual. If these preliminary measures do not work, you may have a mnore serious problem.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
