You need to determine if the door LATCH is the problem, or the door CATCH. The LATCH is the electronic locking mechanism. The CATCH is the small peg that inserts into the latch when the door is closed. If you determine the catch to be defective, replacment should be self-explanatory. There's just a couple of screws that hold it in place on the inner door facing. If the latch requires replacement. The repair is a little more inlvolved. The following link explains:
