Use the PDF function of the CanoScan Toolbox. On the options screen for a pdf, click the drop down box next to “Save as Type:”. Select “PDF (Multiple Pages)”. This option causes CanoScan to stop after each page is scanned and ask if there is a next page or if you are finished.

Using the PDF function of the CanoScan Toolbox, you need to change the setting to scan a Multiple page pdf. Then when it is done scanning the first page, it will ask you to insert the next. The process will repeat until you have scanned all pages. When you are done, the individual pages are combined into a single .pdf document.

Here is one thing you can do.
Install a Word to PDF software like Word2PDF.
Scan and get the image into MS Word.
Go to print dialogue and select Word2PDF as the printer.
When you click Print button, the document will be saved as a PDF.

Hope this will be helpful.

I own canoscan Lide-25. I want to scan forms and fill in the blanks of the form from my computer then print for my use. How to do this? Am I to buy any splecial software other than OCR already provided.

I wouldn't use OCR, too difficult. I would save your scanned document as a jpeg and edit in Photoshop. From Photoshop thay can be printed or saved as a pdf file.

Has no programs to downloadd to

This is Canon Support, and the page for the Canon CanoScan LIDE 25,
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=235&modelid=11463

Click on the - Drivers and Downloads tab

Under the heading Guides and Manuals, you will see
a Scanning Guide listed for the LIDE 25. Download it.

No firmware is listed on this page because you haven't chosen an Operating System.
Go up, and click on the blue down arrow, to the right of the box that has - Select OS in it.

After you have chosen which Operating System you are using, (OS), you will automatically be taken to another page.

Under the - Drivers heading, download the TWAIN driver.

If you do not have your downloads set to save to your My Documents folder, (WinXP. Documents for Vista), this file will be saved to your desktop screen.

In either place when you see it, Double-click right on the file name. Now follow the Installation Wizard's simple instructions.

Save documents to a pdf file using Canon CanoScan 25

If you are using PhotoStudio, you should be able to save as a PDF file if you use the "Save as..." option in the File menu and select the appropriate file type. If you are just wanting a smaller file, I recommend using a program like XnView (http://xnview.com - it's free) to re-save the JPG file with a lesser quality setting. I have found that a quality setting from 60 to 75 compresses the file well without introducing too many compression artifacts.
You might also consider scanning at a lower DPI (try 150) and/or resizing your scan to make the image physically smaller.

Question about copying direct from scan to a Word document

Check if your Canon software creates a PDF image. A scanned image is a RASTER image, a series of dots, that 'appear' like text or drawing. You cannot use Ctrl-C or Ctrl-v. If the software creates a PDF file, you can cut & paste. Usr any good OCR (Optical Character recognition) software ad convert the raster image to editable text. Then you can cut & paste.

I'm using a CanoScan LiDE 60 and I have no idea even how to begin. I need to scan in 5 different documents with numerous pages and I was hoping to create a pdf for each. Can you help me get started?

Use the CanoScan Toolbox that shipped with the scanner. If you don't have it, then download it from the Canon Website. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=351&modelid=11446

If you don't have the scanner driver, then download that too.

Once you have Toolbox installed and you open it, there will be a PDF button. The scan to PDF window will open. If you're planning to do a multiple page pdf, then click the dropdown menu next to 'Save as Type:' and select PDF (Multiple Pages). You're now ready to begin, insert your first page into and then click 'Scan'.
