Question about Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 Flatbed Scanner
I have just been given a canoscan lide 20, i have downloaded the drivers and the canoscan toolbox but now im lost. When I push the SCAN button I get a message that asks me to 'specify the program where the scanned image is transferred'. When you push the OK button a 'select application box' appears with 'Look in Local Disk (C)' This where I become confused..... which program do I select?
Sounds like the CanoScan is looking for a photo enhancing/utility program. Programs for this purpose are Adobe PhotoShop, PaintShop Pro, ACDSee, or even the simple Windows Paint.
Additionally, the CanoScan Toolbox might have a basic photo utility program. Normally basic photo utility programs like this are included in the CD installer of a scanner, a digicam or even most color printers.
Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.

If you are using the MP Navigator EX 1.0 software to scan, just select the "Save" icon instead of the "Photo-1" or "Photo-2" icons to start the scanning process. That way you can just save the scan directly as a JPG, TIFF, BMP or PDF instead of sending it to a photo application. This trips me up sometimes as it is intuitive to think "I am scanning a photo so I should use one of the photo icons". Just remember you just want to save the file.

I clicked OK, and then selected a JPG image in one of my folders as the selected application. This seems to stop it from asking for program any more. JAY.

I suggest you Arcsoft Photobase you can download it from http://wareseeker.com/download/arcsoft-photobase-deluxe-4.5.rar/363865 (This is trial version, you'll have to register this yourself). This will defiantly solve your problem, this is my gurrantee.

SOURCE: have just been given a
Whichever program you wish.
MSPAINT comes with the operating system, so you may want to point it there until you get a better program like photoshop or corel photopaint.
