This normaly just happens it just stops heating its most likley to be the magnatron thats the part that heats the food up,,,it just gives up the gost,,,normaly without warning too, there are fuses inside this unit but there not normal sizes and not normal voltages,,,also inside your microwave is a big capasitor it holds 000,and 000s of volts if you do go inside it and tuch this cap, it could or would most likley kill you!
is it worth being killed for a fuse thats not blowen? far cheaper to just buy a new unit,,,,and live to show it off!!!

Tha capacitor inside the oven holds a charge but is NOT thousands of volts. However if you should touch both terminals at the same time, you'll get a good short jolt but it will not kill you. There is a fuse for the big transformer inside the oven that may be bad. The trick is to ascertain why the fuse blew.

Microwave works perfectly but does not heat

Sadly your microwave has done it's last cooking. The mechanism you need to make it cook again would cost you more than a replacement microwave.

Ge microwave won't heat everything else works fine

Hello t_sumner4756,
Everything else can work perfectly fine but if it doesn't generate microwaves to heat your food than it is not working ( you knew that anyway).. Unfortunately, and in most cases when you microwave stops working in that manner..the components at fault are either the Magnetron, Filament PS or a High Voltage Capacitor..What that means is that you are probably better off just replacing the entire appliance rather than attempting to repair it. If it is a year old or less, bring it back to where you purchased it and have them replace it.. I am sure that is not what you wanted to hear but when the cost to repair exceeds the cost to replace... it just isn't worth repairing.. Plus.. there is an element of danger associated with these kinds of repairs...

Rick
