have advanced uninstaller installed and clean out everything with this excellent free tool.

Mass storage controller is the card reader driver. For this model it is TI 7412 and you can download it here.

Browse Acer.com for up to date drivers specific to your pc.
If you select "update drivers" on the site you will receive the latest and fastest available.

That is a Vista problem with ACER. Delete the reference in device manager and restart and let the comp reco0gnize and reinstall ...just follow the screen instructions.

There is a registry setting that needs deleting but only if this doesn't work.
