When using dryer and the heat goes off , it will not come back on.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

The dryer screen has a felt lining that has, again, come loose and has detached in one part. I have had the dryer for 6 months and believe this problem should not be happening. What do you suggest?

i agree it shouldn't come apart, but as it goes for the "felt" try to use a fabric softener that goes in the wash, and try to put the screen (lint filter) on the top shelf of the dishwasher, if no dishwasher you can wash it by hand I've used a soft nail brush with dish soap. hope this helps :)

Hi,
Remove the bottom front panel(2-3 screws along the very bottom. . Clean inside... Be really careful around the ignitor they are fragile but take care to make sure there is nothing inside the burner tube.
I hope this helps please let me know if you need further assistance.

I have a 30 amp conversion cord with 4 wires and 3 terminals. What wire goes where?

Dryers come with a wire or metal strap connecting the center "neutral" terminal to the frame of the dryer. When using a four wire power cord, take that wire or strap off the frame. (it can be discarded or better yet, in case this dryer needs to ever be converted back to a three wire cord) connect the frame end of the wire / strap to the center terminal of the power block. Now, Green (ground) wire goes to the dryer frame, White (neutral) goes to the center terminal, and the Red and Black (both "hot") wires go to either outside terminal. (one to each)

Need to change power cord on maytag dryer from 3 prong to 4

Always disconnect electricity before beginning this process.

All the 4 wire cords I have seen are color-coded. The white wire goes to the middle terminal, the green wire goes to any screw you can reach that goes into the metal case of the dyer. The red and black go to the outside terminals of the block and while it doesn't matter which color goes to which terminal I usually follow the color code of the interior dryer wiring that already exists. Good Luck.

I need to change the power cord to my dryer to fit the outlet in my new residence. Is there any specific order to how the tabs hook to the dryer on the back? They aren't color coded.

Always disconnect electricity before beginning this process.

If you are using a 3 wire cord the wires go exactly as you see them. The middle wire goes onto the middle terminal and the outside wires go to the outside terminals which one goes on which side doesn't matter.

All the 4 wire cords I have seen are color-coded. The white wire goes to the middle, the green wire goes to any screw you can reach that goes into the metal case of the dyer. The red and black go to the outside of the terminal block and I usually follow the color code of the interior dryer wiring that already exists. Good Luck.

Drying timer on auto dry

I called LG...they said to unplug the dryer for 5 min. to reset the timer ...this solved the problem.
They also said not to use dryer sheets during the sensor dry cycle as the coating on the dryer sheets causes the sensor to malfunction as it can't read the humidity level in the dryer.

Trying to wire a 3 wire dryer from panel box to dryer plug

Sounds like you have a 10-2 NM wire. One black, one white, one bare copper. At panel box, black to one hot terminal of breaker or fuse holder (L1). White to other breaker terminal or other fuse holder (L2). Bare copper to the grounded neutral buss bar.
At the dryer the bare neutral goes to the center terminal, the other two go one each on either side, it won't matter which way. Hot Neutral Hot. The neutral terminal of the dryer should have a wire or metal strap connecting it to the dryer frame if you are not using a four wire supply.

Replacing a pigtail

You hook the Red and Black wires to the gold colored screws on the dryer, and the white wire goes to the siolver colored screw. The Green wire goes to the Body.
