Pool pump shutting off/tripping the circuit breaker

We have a 18 x 48 metal frame Intex above ground pool - second year in use. This year we decided to purchase the Intex salt water pump system. We are having a problem with the regular pool pump shutting off/tripping the circuit breaker after about 45 minutes of use. We use a brand new outside contractors grade extension cord that should be able to carry the load. Any advice?

What kind of pump are you using?
Sounds like the Intex is restricting water flow there by heating up your pump and shutting it down..
You may need to re plumb everything to handle the flow.
Intex hoses and fittings are different than the industry standards just so the can make you buy from them
Do what ever it takes to get good flow

My Intex 603M will only run for 5 min or less before it trips it own circuit breaker.?

That unit has a GFCI breaker installed. Those are made to prevent electrocution. IF there is ANY water leakage from the pump into the area that supplies voltage, the breaker will trip. Make sure that there are no damp areas inside the unit and make sure that you have all the wires that it connects to wired correctly and have ground connections.

I have a 15x 42" intex metal frame pool an i also

Most likely you are not. The manual is very conservative!!! I have a 14000 gallon pool and I run my intex salt system during the summer at 10 to 12 hrs pump and 8 to 10 hrs chlorination in between those 12 hrs and my pool stays very clear. But..... If you don't clean the unit and let it alarm for low flow, low salt or not run the unit log enough, you WILL HAVE GREEN WATER!!!
Hope this helps, If it does, please rate the tip!

Just after removing the vacuum...i clean the filter...then turn pump only on and it wont work..it worked good while vacuuming...cleaned the plates..still nothing...HELP

Well this may be a stupid thought but make sure the outlet works other items. Never know maybe the breaker tripped.
If it is actually the pump itself, intex will replace it for free for the first 2 years.
you need a valid receipt then call them they will e-mail a claim sheet fill it out and fax it back they will have a new pump to your door within days

I need the instructions for set up

Here is a pretty good you-tube video for the general pool setup for above ground metal frame pools. The first minute is fluff but the rest covers the basics.

24' x 52" metal frame pool, need copy of set up manual.

I don't have an instruction manual for this particular pool, but I do have general installaton instructions for above ground pools with metal frames and liners. The pool liners are the same to install no matter what type of pool you have, so this should help!

How much salt to start with a 15ft round pool

Assuming you have the Intex salt water system and the easy set pool, here's what the manual says:

15x33" - 65 pounds (80 for metal frame)
15x36 - 65 pounds (100 for metal frame)
15x42 - 80 pounds (110 for metal frame)
15x48 - 95 pounds (N/A for metal frame)

hope this helps!
