That unit has a GFCI breaker installed. Those are made to prevent electrocution. IF there is ANY water leakage from the pump into the area that supplies voltage, the breaker will trip. Make sure that there are no damp areas inside the unit and make sure that you have all the wires that it connects to wired correctly and have ground connections.

Pour some bleach (about 2 gallons) around the perimeter and give it a good brushing. May have to repeat in a few days. That should hold fine.

I have a Polaris PB4-60 booster pump, less than 3yrs old. I turned the pump and left. When I got back 1hr later, the pump was not running. Breakers had been tripped. Each time we reset the breakers and...

If the device that tripped is a ground fault circuit interupter (GFCI) breaker or receptacle then it is likely caused by 5mA or more of leakage current to ground within the motor. If what tripped is a circuit breaker then there are likely shorted turns within the motor. Usually either of this issues requires a new motor.

If you are not wanting to turn wrenches yourselfthen my best suggestion is to bring it to Leslies Pool Supplies and they oftencan put it right for the price of the parts while you watch (they might not have some parts in stock).

I hope this helps.

I have a intex model 603 filter pump that keeps tripping the reset on the plug... it seems that when i first hit reset it will work for a few mins but then trip.. i can hit reset again and it will work...

Have you tried running an extra duty extension cord to another plug, not in that circuit?? Your GFCI may be bad?? Pump drawing too many amps and the breaker not rated for those amps.. Bad pump??

I would try another plug first and work from there...

Pool pump shutting off/tripping the circuit breaker

What kind of pump are you using?
Sounds like the Intex is restricting water flow there by heating up your pump and shutting it down..
You may need to re plumb everything to handle the flow.
Intex hoses and fittings are different than the industry standards just so the can make you buy from them
Do what ever it takes to get good flow

Chek the high voltage capacitor and the diode . If one of them are short there is a chance for tripping the breaker

Tripping circuit breaker

Your breaker has become weak with age. Have an electrician replace it for you and your problem will be rectified.
