I cannot move a Microsoft Word file to a SanDisk 2 GB Cruzer, getting the message that "Directory or File cannot be created"...Why? What's the solution?

There is a problem with these where putting files directly on the root folder of the drive only allows X amount of files. Open the Cruzer from My Computer and create a new folder. Try dropping the Word file into that new folder and all should be well.

Hope this helps. Look forward to hearing back from you soon!

Photos don't show

Usually you are not limited in the number of folders you can create. You can have this problem if you are not createing folders to store the pictures in. Make sure ther are no pictures or other files outsde the folders in the root directory. If that does not help, that that drive to a camera store or coptuter shop that can do a data recovery. If there is a corruption in the USB directory then you may get problems like this as well. Reformatting the USB drive might help, but you will need to remove everything from it first. Cruzer micro 2GB - "Directory or file cannot be created"

In all likelihood, your SD card is formatted FAT and you are hitting the limit on number of objects in the root directory. Check the format type and if it is FAT, I would recommend reformatting as FAT 32 which has more lenient restrictions.

ALTERNATIVE: If you really do not want to reformat the card, you might try to remove a few pics to free up space in teh directory and then create a subfolder to store picture in. Object in this subfolder should not be counted at the root.

Can't Copy Files onto USB Drive

I think you have to copy the pictures to your flashdrive and not copy and paste. this is how to do it: highlight the pictures you want to copy to your flashdrive and check on the left side of windows explorer, you will see some commands available like (delete, copy , move etc) select the copy command and a small windows will appear for you to choose the location to copy, select the flashdrive and then click on copy.
this will copy the selected pictures with ease.

Background picture

The manual says to create a directory BG to put the pictures in and it has to be in JPEG format. Also you need to write some empty data to the disc as in some other file maybe to make the total CD size 100MB or more

Cruzer 2GB

This is due to the fact that these drives are formatted for FAT (not FAT32 - which makes no sense whatsoever). What you need to do to fix this is reformat the drive for FAT32.
