Camcoder Does not connect with Laptop thru USB

you may have received a USB cable alongwith the camcoder, look for a slot on the camcoder to connect the cable and the other end on the USB port of your laptop:)

Make sure you already been installed its software to your laptop ( for fast and best connection).
While your camcoder turning off, connect the usb cable ( small jack in your camcoder) and standard jack for your laptop. Now turn on your camcoder. If you have pre- installed software in your laptop, it will detect automatically your camcoder. If doesn't work try to search manually your camcoder trough 'my computer' or check connection on right lower side of your screen.

I've had the same problem with two other unrelated HP input products in this area myself so I understand the pain. Media Center is not really well geared for nor is very friendly in the end user component input area. I'm assuming you've already tried playing a video file from your camcorder while setting up the Media Center input settings? Try a different software that will recognize your input card. Ideally, you should use any input software that came with the card itself from the manufacturer. Contact the manufacturer for a link to the original software bundle if you can't find it from their website or you may need to research your own replacement software solution for this product.

There are two types of storage i camcoder. If it is hard disk Just connect your camcoder with USB to computer. In mycomputer you can see the disk of the camcoder as a new drive there.
If storage is DVD you have to burn it inorderd to copy it to computer.
If you are using a memory card you can remove it form the camcoder and using a card reader you can transfer video to computer.

most camcoders do have a USB connectivity cable and using this connect the camcoder to the PC

once connected u will need to install the required drivers for the Camcoder to be recognised by the PC (this is a one time process)

then the firmware with the Camcoder will also provide u with some basic recording software u may install that too and then go to the starting of the tape (rewind on camcoder) and play and at that point in time click on the record button on the software installed on the PC

see the contacts on the both side are they rusty current is not passing thru the terminal properly try cleaning them with some rust removing liquid on a cloth and then try it

simply connect the camcoder with the usb pin which come with it. and then go to control panel and the find camera and scanner then update the driver for you camcoder by the cd which come.

was using my DCR TRV 285E model Sony camcoder without any trouble. After a long when i tried to connect the same to my laptop i got message you required ieee1739 port. what can i do for this?

And why can't you find the drivers for it? Canon's web site offers support, including driver downloads for an incredible arrary of products. Their tech support group is very helpful, and they are pretty quick about replying to inquiries via e-mail?
