Try http://OpenOffice.com . It is free and Open Source. It comes with word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software. It will read and write Microsoft compatible files and it well used and tested.

I haven't used it recently but in the past the quality was a little lower the Office Suite and there were some compatibility issues. For many users it is the best substitute and it is free. If you like it, help give feedback and maybe help make it better.

It is Open Source. It is by and for the user community.

Some do some do not. Like you, they time-out after so long. Just enough for you to get used to it.
There are other way to get free software. Some download a program called limewire & download many programs all free.
Watch out, you will want to make sure you're antivirus software is up to date & scan everything you download befor you open it.

Luck!

How tos office 2007

Hi murthy_padal

MS Office 2007 is a program that requires a Licence before it can be used. Successfully entering the correct code confirms that the user has the Licence. If the validation process shows that the software is within the agreed number of validations defined in the Licence Agreement, the validation process is completed and the software is activated. Activation of the software entitles a user(s) to install and use the Program on the agreed number of different computers. Activated software entitles the user to benefit from support and to receive online updates, enhancements, security patches and upgrades from Microsoft. During the first of such downloads after activation, the activation is verified and the computer on which the Activated Program is installed becomes authorised for the Program to be operated on it and for it receive future regular downloads unhindered. Any failure of the Validation, Activation or Authorisation processes can result in Notifications, Error Messages, Usage Limitations or Usage Restrictions. MS Office can be installed without a Licence if a Trialversion is either be downloaded and installed or factory pre-installed on a new computer. At the end of the predefined and agreed Trial Period, a unique 25 character Activation Code must be purchased and entered in order for that Program to continue to be used on that computer. Entering the code, followed by Validation and Authorization put the user in the same position as the holder of a fully Authorizeded version of MS Office.

Currently, only 60 Day Trial versions of MS Office 2010 can be downloaded directly from Microsoft. And only full, licensed versions of MS Office 2010 can be purchased direct from Microsoft. Full, genuine original, licensed versions of MS Office2010 and limited remaining stocks of previous versions of MS Office(the 2000, 2003 and 2007 versions) can be purchased from Authorised Resellers of Microsoft Products. If you buy the physical software in a retail pack from a store or an online trader, you can Register and Authorise the product with Microsoft. Microsoft Products cannot usually be downloaded without the separate purchase of an Activation Code.
If you want genuine, authorised MS Office 2007, then you will have to purchase full, genuine, unused licensed versions of the software from a reputable, reliable supplier that still stocks it, such as Amazon (www.amazon.com). Online offers of Free Downloads of Microsoft products are probably almost universally either not genuine, illegal, unlicensed or pre-used licence versions, downloadable only from illicit download sites or sites that are masquerading non-existent Microsoft products as camouflage for the marketing of other (often unrelated) software, products or services and any software downloaded from them is likely to have Time or Usage Limitations or Access Restrictions once installed.

Another option is to download MS Office 2010 Pro 60 Day Trial and install it, carefully following each step. Go to: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try

You can also download, install and use a comparable free Program - Open Office (www.openoffice.org). Open Office can be used simultaneously with MS Office Pro 2007 60 Day Trial. If you delete MS Office Pro 2010 60 Day Trial, well before the 60 day expiry date, and Remove all components of it from Add or Remove Programs (or its equivalent in your Operating System) and restart before downloading and re-installing, it is usually possible to enter into further 60 Day trial periods.

The Microsoft word is locked

If the program is asking for a product key, then it means that you had a trial version of Microsoft-office. The trail version is usually valid for 60 days as a free test sample, after which you have to purchase MS-office and install. it is usually a dvd with the product key printed on the cover.

No microsoft word in my computer

MS Office includes MS Word and it is not a free program.
You will need to purchase a copy of MS Office to get the product installationkey.
For an alternative free program, OPEN OFFICE is a full-featured officesuite that's compatible with Microsoft Office.
If you want Open Office you can download this free program. Click on this link to download :-
http://www.openoffice.org/ You can download a 60 day free trial of MSOffice 2010. Click on this link to download :- http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try/

I have a dell laptop, fairly new, with Microsoft office home and student already installed. However recently it began asking me for a product key, and now it has locked me out of the system. I need this...

If you bought the laptop used it may have not come with the code. It may also because you may be using the train version on new laptops where you have to buy it separate.

I bought this computer last year and the microword soft program keeps telling me to enter my product key. I do not remember the box having a product key. I bought this computer at Best Buy and i remember...

Most computers have the trial version pre installed which is Microsoft's way of letting you test drive the program. After 60 days when you have already used it and have several documents created they pull the rug from under your feet. If Best Buy sold you the individual copy of Microsoft Word or Office you will have a plastic case with the activation key inside that can only be viewed when you slide the case open. If you have a receipt with Microsoft Office you can try to call Microsoft for a new activation key. If you do not have a receipt for Microsoft Office you can find the best price and purchase it. You will not have to reinstall the program, all you need to do is open the software case and look on the back for the activation key. Enter the activation key and you will be able to use the programs. I hope this helps and you indeed purchased the Microsoft Office at the time of the computer purchase.

Sir i have purchase new acer netbook my netbook is asking for microsoft product key

Normally whenever we purchase a new netbook or a laptop computer manufacturers install a trail version of microsoft office products, It seems that even your computer manufacturer has installed a trail version of office on your computer which you can use for a period of 60 days and after which you have to purchase the product.

I cant find my product key for microsoft word anywhere, and the software came with my laptop, what do i do?

Hi,

The Microsoft Office program that you have might just be a trial version. Usually, newly purchsed computers comes with a 60-day trial version. If that's the case, you need to contact microsoft to purchase the full version. But, if you ordered a full version of the program together with the computer then you need to contact whoever you bought the computer from and you already have the product key and you lost it call Microsoft and they can help you obtain the 25 digit product key for your MS-OFFICE application.

Computor

Usually when you purchase a new computer it will come with a 60 trial of Microsoft Office. After 60 days have gone you will no longer be able to use the program without installing a product key.

A few things to check:

1. Usually you will get a full version of Microsoft Works on new computers. This is similar to Office but a little slimmed down.

2. If you want you can download Open Office which is a free office facsimile.

3. If you purchase a full version of Microosft Office you can reenter the product key and continue using it.

Have online microsoft Home & Student 2007, Trial period 60 days. Started program around June 21. Not able to "print" anything. Printer works fine except for Microsoft abilities.

I was told by someone at MICROSOFT to purchase the program at an office supply store and install it with a disk. I'll keep you in mind should something serious happen. thank you.
