Scanning Slides from Epson Perfection V700PRO

I have been happily scanning slides from my Epson Perfections V750PRO Scanner for months now. However, suddenly, when I try to scan, my Epson software goes through the Preview & Documentation Identification process and, instead of going on automatically to scan the slides, it returns to the "Scan" mode every time. Can you help, please?

I was wondering about this. Do I first have to uninstall the Epson Scanner software that I have?

  • Envoys Apr 11, 2008

Unfortunately not! I have uninstalled existing Epson software, and installed both disks again. However, the problem persists. Is there anything else I can try?

  • Envoys Apr 11, 2008

Sorry! I've just come across your latest comment regarding uninstalling. I have done this, and re-installed, but the problem persists.

I have changed scanning mode from Full Auto to Professional and everything seems o.k.. I am concerned, though, how, all of a sudden, the scanner does not scan my slides in Full Auto mode as before. Thanks for your help.

late me conform first your scanner scan and preview your documents. if yes, problem with your software. if not problem with your hardware....

My Epson Perfection 4490 Scanner insists on scanning my 35 mm slides as regular color photos. How can I switch the dscanner to scan my slides as slides?

Of course that is what it will do. The same as ti will do as a negative. Neither can be printed out other than as a picture.

I am having problems scanning 35mm slides, I seem

you have chosen normal preview
1. change it to thumbnail preview
2. or click on "All" button in normal preview
so you would scan multiple negatives.

increase your dpi setting or your target area or both
I am also scanning color negatives at 3600dpi and 48bit. file is large but quality is very very good...

Scanning slides with the Epson Perfection 1250

To be honest, I have no idea of how you were able to scan larger transparencies in the past. The scanner and its software were never designed to do this and there is no workaround.
