i have one of these akai 27 inch with dvd, i had a similar issue i found a power supply at auction and exchanged it and it works fine now, normally with this symptom your power supply is fualty. if the light goes green and you have no picture then you know other boards are fualty
We have had our 27 Inch Akai LCT2785TA for almost 2 years, just today we cannont get it to turn on the red light will just flash when we try to turn it on. Can you give me an explanation and a fix for this problem
If the TV fails to power ON, in about 90% of the time is due to a power supply failure. If you intend to DIY, I would suggest to visually inspect the capacitors in the power supply. Replacing them should correct the failure with the TV.
The power supply might have a shorted/defective diode(s), blown resistors, capacitors if the light is blinking on the front of the LCD.
I repair these power supplies, write to [email protected] if you need further assistance.
The solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply. I service these power supplies, for more info write to [email protected]
