The power supply might have a shorted/defective diode(s), blown resistors, capacitors if the light is blinking on the front of the LCD.
I repair these power supplies, write to [email protected] if you need further assistance.

I have a 27" lcd

This is a problem with the internal power supply, unfortunately I hear that they don't make these boards anymore so you'll need to find someone / a company that will undertake the board level repair if you want it fixed.
And as always, ensure they operate on a no-fix no-fee policy.

MY 4YEARS AKAI LCD TV IS BLINKING ORANGE LIGHT BUT

Read the info from the link below to troubleshoot the failure with your LCD. Try not for force the LCD to work because for the time being it might only need the capacitors listed in the link but if the lights is blinking red, then the failure is a bit more complex to repair.

Jerky/Pausing DVD playback on 27" Akai DVD/TV Combo

I have seen many issues with these internal dvd players, I will recommend that you pick up a nice inexpensive walmart dvd player and hook it in to the red. green blue connections, that is really the best solution, the players in all these units fail within 4 years. hope this helps have a great weekend

No Picture or operation

The red blinking light indicates a shorted part inside the TV. It normally happens when the power supply is trying to compensate the demand for proper or clean power to the rest of the boards. Most of these power supplies have defective capacitors and shorted zener diode(s) as well open surface mount resistors.
