I swiveled my standard mount a little, and only 3 of the 4 screws fit, but this has worked for the past several years.

crack in the screen means time for a new TV...part if even available on this model would cost more than a brand new set.

If the power supply is supplying the main board with the correct amount of volts, your controller board or your on off switch panel is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. If its the whole board your looking at a few hundred unless you can find the same tv with a broken screen and just swap parts.The on/off switch board is cheaper but you have to remove alot of interior parts to access and becomes a hastle.

IF YOUR UNIT HAS AN ATSC TUNER THEN IT IS HD READY. SEE YOUR OWNERS MANUEL. HOOK THE ANTENNA TO THE RF (ANTENNA) CONNECTOR .GO INTO THE MENU AND AUTO PROGRAM CHANNELS. GO TO CHANNEL 5 AND SEE IF YOU HAVE 5.1 OR 5.2 IF SO YOUR DONE.

No did not get it fixed I am in the process of moving from NJ to SC and don't have time this couldn't have happened at a better time.I will just move it broke.

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. There could be a few different reasons that your HDMI cable is not working. The cable could have gone bad, sometimes the cable is loose and you will need to make sure it is secure or when the cable was taken out of the TV or receiver it may have been accidentally damaged. What are you seeing on the screen when you have the HDMI cable plugged in? Please make sure that the the TV is on the correct input to receive the picture from the HDMI cable. You can also try to reset the DISH receiver box by unplugging it from the wall for 10 seconds. Another option you can try is replacing the HDMI cable to see if the cable has gone bad or been damaged. The last option to try would be to use the cable on a different device such as a blue ray player or gaming unit. If the cable does work on a different device then the receiver may be the issue. This LCD is using a power supply number: MLT168A. The common failure is with defective capacitors in the secondary side and you do not need schematics for this repair. Use the picture below as a reference to find the defective capacitors that show signs of bulging. You might also need to replace 2 capacitors under HS4.

If the supply voltage are present in the power supply board, the fault is between the backlight or the inverter board. Once there's no high voltage generated by the high voltage transformer within one second upon start-up, backlight feedback circuitry is turned off and trigger that kind of symptoms.

You have to check for busted backlights, it will produce an overload to high voltage transformer and will trigger the feedback circuitry. Busted bulb can't be test using the multimeter but has a physical indication of fault like blackened end. You can easily identify it by physical inspection. Much better also if you have a spare bulb to swap to a suspicious one.

Check the resistance of high voltage transformer's secondary winding (directly connected to the bulb by two wires, pink/white) using a multimeter. Compare the reading, all secondary winding of the high voltage transformers should be the same, if you found lower/higher resistance from one transformer, it is considered faulty.

Ive reviewed and assisted anoter person who had a similar problem that caused the tv to malfunctioin simialr to yours. After doing some short research and the other person who had the problem, came to find out that 4 resistors failed on the main board causing this to happen. It also could be the backlight of your Plasma screen tv, or your Plasma screen itself is shot.

I would recomened that if you have no active warenty to give a visual inspection of the Tv, via removing the rear black plastic pannel to see if any of the corisponding chips have any burn marks or excessive heat stress. these items seem to be failing about the 12 month mark
