My DM2652 fan cycled every 5-10secs. I pulled the fuse out, cleaned the tips, replaced it and the cycle went to 50secs, which, I guess, is normal. My motor is quiet(2010).

The DM2652 comes with an optional cooling fan to help with cooling the amonia. The fan cycles on and off as required as it has a tempeature sensor (thermistor). We turn ours off at night by removing the inline fuse (glass tube fuse 3 amp) located in your outside acces panel. The fuse is located in a black fuse holder with a re wire connecting both sides.

I am having the same problem. Did you find a solution?

  • Anonymous Sep 13, 2012

I would have to remove the unit for that fix. I called Dometic and was told ( after my second motor replacement ) that the high pitched noise is an (operational normal) that I will have to except. It is very annoying. I have trouble excepting Dometic's suggestion of just having to live with it. I will try for a third fan but have no faith it will fix it. Guess I weill have to violate the warranty with the switch option as Dometic has no solution but yet another fan and 30 days for the dealer to get installed. :(

My dometic refrigerator DM2652 is cooling in gas mode but will not switch to AC. The unit is getting power but the "auto" light will not come on.

That fridge has 2 elements. A 12v and mains 240v/120v. Sounds like the mains element or the fuse has blown. The fuse box is in behind the fridge at the bottom. Follow the power cord to the box. There should be 3 fuses. Check them all. Using a multimeter, check the readings of both elements. Google " Dometic Service manual DM2652 pdf" and page 11 should help you.

Refrigerator not cooling on electricty or gas

You will first want to ensure the RV is level.
If the RV is level, then open the rear access vent door on the side of the RV to access the rear of the refrigerator. Feel the coils just above the tank on the cooling system. These coils should be warm to the touch. If they are warm and the refrigerator is not cooling then you will require a replacement cooling unit. Also, the most common area for the Dometic 2652 to leak is just above the propane burner area. If it has leaked, you should see a yellow residue in that area. The cooling unit can be changed in approximately 2-3 hours with no specialized tools needed (Arcticold offers 7 day a week free tech support). The old cooling unit will simply unbolt and the new one bolts in. Check out ArctiCold Refrigeration We keep it cold (the highest quality product available) Arcticold New Cooling units come standard with a Lifetime Warranty. Install instructions are also provided with the cooling unit. Arcticold has locations across North America to provide fast delivery. Dometic Voluntarily Expands Refrigerator Recall

Dometic recently expanded its recall on a population of two-door refrigerators. The original recall included some two-door refrigerators manufactured between April 1997 and May 2003. The new recall focuses on models manufactured between June 2003 and September 2006.

To see if your unit is on the recall list & what to do, try the link below.
If your unit is on the list, DO NOT run your refrigerator on propane until the kit is installed

My dometic fridge will not turn on

Check to see if you have a switch for storage, on, off etc. usually between doors, or near top right corner of fridge compartment. It may be in wrong position.

I am new to the RV world. I have Dometic DM2652.

Yes, you can operate the fridge on propane while driving, instead of running the generator for electric operation. However, you should have a dual tank setup to prevent running out of propane.

Propane tanks with OPD valves aren't holding a true 20 lbs of LP, but rather only hold 17-18 lbs of LP. However, if you're swapping/exchanging your tanks instead of having them refilled, you're only getting 15 lbs of LP in the tanks these days, (check the label at the bottom of the tank to confirm). Hence the reason to have a dual tank setup on your RV to get longer run times.

I thought you might want to have a tech manual for your fridge, so here's a link to the Dometic site, you just need to select yours based on the manufacture date, etc.
