IF this is a linksys, then you'll need to access the admin console (192.168.1.1 by default) user: admin password: admin
Click the wireless tab and click security.

You'll find your options in there. Pick TKIP as your encrytion method and AES for the algorithm. Now setup a password (6 characters minimum). that will be your password for your wireless password for any device (wireless printer or other laptops)

How do i get a pass phrase for my hp photosmart pluse

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops, wireless printer and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops, wireless printer and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

Cant find wep key

Your printer is saying that you should secure your wireless internet. Try resetting the router by holding the reset button located on the back for at least 30 seconds.

Laptop doesn't recognize printer[c-7280]

For wireless security you can select WEP or WPA security. Some are specific lengths but within reason you can choose your own. Set in on the router first then on the computer. You may need to set up the router with a wired connection

Need to install printer need to no how to find wpa passphrase

The WEP or WPA is the password to get onto the network. Think of the router as the doorman. The printer needs to get into the club so it needs the password otherwise it can't get access.

The WEP key and WPA passphrase are obtained from the wireless router or access point using the embedded web server on the router. See the documentation provided with your router to see how to access this information. Some routers provide more than one WEP key. Use the first WEP key if this is the case.
