This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

ILO 2GB MP3 Player Not Working!!!!

1) Disconnect from computer, turn it off, hold in volume + button and reconnect it to your computer - continue holding volume + until the Found Hardware Wizard comes up.

2)
REFORMAT FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Erases Everything: Connect your iLo player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "ILO 2GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything, and give you a fresh start.

Incorrect format, reformat player

i've had that same problem, i called the tech number and they emailed me some program to download. It fixes the problem but the problem doesn't go away. It still happens and i have to hook up the USB and use the program to fix it. Which can be a pain in the ass, all in all, this product is not worth it. I shouldn't have to "repair" something every time i want to use it. And it turns out mp3 players only have a 15 day return policy at Walmart. Which would have been nice to know since on day 16 it crapped the bed. *sigh* lesson learned.

MP3 ilo

You should backup your data and format the player. Plug her in, copy your music onto your computer, then format it by right clicking the drive in My Computer, then going to Format, then clicking Start. After it's finished, copy your music back over to the player and it should be sorted.

Mp3 player

Mine does this too. I have no idea how to fix it but I think I have one about how it works. My power button broke about 4 mos ago when I dropped it on the floor in the cafeteria in highschool. I've seen that I'm not the only one who has this problem so it must be common. Anyways, it probably cannot initiate its own power from the battery with the button pushed in like that, so you might have to plug it in every time. I do this every day, and even tho its BS, its better than nothing :) When I go to do it and people ask me where I'm going, I say "I'm going to jump-start my mp3 player" because thats basically what you're doing. I know this is a whole hell of a lot of nothing but at least its a reason why it might do this. :)
