MY DVD-RE IS NOT READING ANY CD OR DVD..WHEN I M INSERTING ANY DISK IT KEEPS ON READING IT

It seems that the lens of the DVD writer is not working properly. Please try to clean the lens of the DVD writer with help of CD/DVD lens cleaner disc. The lens cleaner disc is easily available in market. After cleaning the lens try to run the CD/DVD again

Try inserting a DVD, a CD or a VCD to see if it happens to all disks.
- If it does, the Lens might be dirty and it's having a hard time reading the disks and you'd need to use a Disk Cleaner.
- if not, then the disc might no be supported by the unit. Check with your manual to see what are the supported disk format. (Is it RW+/- or R+).

Let me know what happens.

Either:
* the disk you're inserting is not "empty" -- try it on a different computer;
* you should try a different manufacturer of "blank" disks;
* you need to upgrade the "firmware" inside your CD-writer, to recognize more brands of "blank" media;
* the CD-reader is malfunctioning -- when you "cancel" the burn-attempt, and insert a commercially-produced program CD or commercially-produced audio CD, can those disks be properly read?
* you have two CD/DVD devices in your computer, and you're inserting the "blank" disk into the "wrong" device.

1. Remove your burner from your computer then open it by removing the screws under the burner.
2. When the cover has already been removed, get a cotton bud then soak it in alcohol to clean the lens. Because the lens might just be dirty. Then after that put the cover back by screwing it again then install it back to your computer.

I'm very late to your question, but the problem is that this drive doesn't burn DVDs (i.e., it was not designed to do that). It's a CD-RW, DVD-ROM (read only).

A couple of quick observations: -If you have two or more optical drives you could be inserting the disk in the wrong one. -You may have just misspoke when you said *insert into the DVD/CD burner drive a CD-R disc* but just to make sure you need to be inserting a blank DVD disk and not a blank CD. No offence intended, especially since I?ve made both of these mistakes in the past myself :)
