What can I do to get my Manhattan 150095 PC TV Converter to display clear images on the TV or projector?

Most likely because its an analog converter and your injecting a digital image into it. Most all cable companies do not produce an analog signal so its displaying a diluted output.

What does dvi mean

Hello figment_of_u,
DVI stands for Digital Video Interface. They are used for direct digital connections between source video (namely, video cards) and LCD monitors. This provides a faster, higher-quality image than with analog, due to the nature of the digital format. All video cards initially produce a digital video signal, which is converted into analog at the VGA output. The analog signal travels to the monitor and is re-converted to a digital signal. DVI-D eliminates the analog conversion process and improves the connection between source and display.

Hope this helps you understand what DVI is for. Thank you for choosing Fixya.

Why will my ps3 not workwhen conected via multi-av cable to the RCA jacks?it does work conected to a hd tv via hdmi

When you use an HDMI cable with your PS3, the system is outputting the signal in a digital format. You need to tell it to switch back to displaying in an analog format to use the RCA jacks, otherwise it won't work. To do this, turn off your PS3. Then, once it's off, press and hold down the power button on the system. After a few seconds, it will beep and reset the output signal back to analog. Just make sure only your RCA cables are plugged in when you do this. Hope this helps!

Hi,can I record digital transmissions on my sony slv-se820g vcr barry

You can record a digital TV signal on a VHS VCR but only in analog format. The digital signal must be input to the VCR by some component which has a yellow composite video output and a white audio output such as a digital cable TV box or satellite receiver. For over-the-air digital TV, either the TV must output analog video or you need a DTV converter box connected to the VCR. Bottom line, the digital signal must be converted to analog for the VCR since VHS VCRs generally are analog recorders.

Outputs of TI analog 500-5016 do not change when inputs to Ti 520 controller are changed. Mother board consists of power supply , TI 520c controller, TI 500-5016 analog output, TI 500-5009 analog input,...

hi, The VERY first thing we MUST check, is the PSU, check this exhaustively, even if possible replace with a know good, as if this isn't 100% A OK, NOTHING else can be..then well ADC 101 says that if there is NO output from the ADC, then this can only be due to 2 reasons, one, it is Inhibited, two, there is NO DATA to be converted/coming out? We need to find out why?

You need to use a 'scope and view the input and output signals along with the lines that control the IC, data flow, Inhibit etc, and see if all the lines are in the correct logic states, work back along either the control lines or signal, and work out why either it is inhibited or lacking signal.

Also check that you micro, isn't inhibiting it either?

Start at the beginning, where the analog signal is presented, and follow a line(s) along through the circuit with the 'scope, checking where they enter the conversion IC, then look at the Output(s) and see whats what, now if all control lines are set OK, and there is NO output then that IC must be faulty... anyway follow the signal along and see why it's not working..

unfortunately there could be many, many conditions that can cause this type of thing, one simply? must work through each block of the circuit, isolating sections if possible and viewing the activity on a 'scope to see where it all goes wrong. checking the voltage and signal levels are correct.

I have a Marantz 7.1 AV receiver (sr5500) and I run a 5.1 set up for home theatre and use the 2 extra channels to run a pair of outdoor stereo speakers... When I first set it up I also found I could not get a digital signal output, only analog, after reading the manual(!) I discovered that it can only output an analog signal...so I have used the phono outputs on my blu-ray player into the CD input of the AV amp and play CDs outside through this and it also outputs the optical digital signal into the AV amp through the DVD input...my iPod also plays through a dock and it's analog output to the speakers outside through another (CD-R) anolog input on the amp... After starting the computer the screen is black and only displays digital analog on screen and the blue light is flashing. It then displays a box say "check signal digital analog." please help me. Thanx.

This blue light flashing means there is power to monitor bu NO video signal. No Analog or digital Video . analog is the regular plug for PC to Monitor, the other is HDMI digital or other digital. Check signal digital/analog means again: No video signal from PC detected.

No display from composite video input

Composite video are yellow RCA jacks and are made for analog signals of standard definition video. If you are connecting a digital source or a high definition output, it may be beyond the capabilities of the projector. You may be able to find a VGA to composite adapter if you laptop or whatever has a VGA output port. VGA is along the same lines of composite (analog, standard definition).
